I have no problem eating alone at a fast food restaurant but not a sit down dinner restaurant.

Doesn't bother me at all - I used to do it all the time when DH was living in Texas. I just bring my book and take turns reading my book and watching all the people watching me... LOL.

I went last week to Ruby Tuesday's at lunch - I also had to study so I was at least "doing" something. I think I'd be bored if I didn't have something to keep me busy.

I have no problem doing it! I usually go to a sushi restaurant around my office and eat by the bar or a small table, oif there is no bar space. Just because I have no companion doesn't mean I can't enjoy my sushi!

I don't mind for the most part... Usually I'll only do it for lunch or early dinner when I'm shopping.

NEVER. for whatever reason, i am too embarrassed and insecure. even though others don't mind, i do feel bad when i see solo diners.

If its a deli or fast food type of place on a lunch hour though, then yes, I can eat alone (I usually take a magazine or book with me to look less lonely )

No problem with a fast food place as long as I have something with me to read as well. I can't do it at some place like TGIFs or the diner. I don't know why.

I JUST had this conversation with friends. I could not dine alone in a restaurant. But yes, I could eat alone in a fast food place. The whole idea of walking into a restaurant and having someone say, "Table for 1?"...I just can't do it!
