Unfortunately my family has seen the worst of what asthma can do.
I'm glad you decided not to go into work. It's way too much stress. Any parent that can't understand that you had a family emergency & need to cancel should have their parenting license taken away.

Asthma is a serious medical condition. I have asthma (not nearly as bad as your DH or as bad as when I was younger)
People do not understand what it's like to struggle for each breath. It's like breathing threw a mixing straw!!!
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I use Advair and it really helps to keep it under control. Some people have has success w/ Singular but Advair has been a god send for me.

Is Advair the purple disc?
I know with Singular he had a really bad reaction and so he isn't able to take that anymore. He takes the purple disc every morning, has his inhaler that he probably uses about 4-5 times a day, and takes the nebulizer with albuterol 2X daily --- that is what he does for "maintenance" --- when he feels it getting worse he usually goes to the pulminary doctor who he sees and he prescribes prednisone --- and he takes the neb. more often. Unfortunately I think this one just came on so quick because he came down with a bad cold.

Yes, Advair is the purple disk. There are a few different dosages you can take too. I feel really bad that he has it so bad.
I can't imagine how horrible it must feel to be that way all the time.
Have you ever tried altering his diet? Some studys show the good and bad affects of certain foods & asthma. I heard once that grapefruit is no good and I think tomatoes are good.
Sorry your having a rough couple of days. It will pass!
