My mother was born and raised in germany, and she didn't let us get away with anything! She was one tough mamma jamma.
As for your comments Andri- I have a 7 year old son... If he was a teenager vacationing in a Aruba, and went missing. I would turn that island upside down, until I found him dead or alive! I would want answers, and I would make sure that I got them.(This thread really irked the crap out of me, and now I have to give something else up for Lent!) I am looking to pity a fool!

My friends and I were always on that same note. Not even on a far island but even around home. If you went out with certain friends, you are going back home with whoever you went out with.
This reminds me of the case we have here in NYC with Imette StGuillen.....her friend departed and she went to the Falls Bar....
I agree with this. No one deserves to die, but I have never left a bar without my friends, whether on Long Island, Mexico, our college town, or NYC. It just wouldn't even occur to me.

Vanity Fair had a very interesting article about this case. Though we all feel very sympathetic toward the mother, there are legitimate claims that in her valid state of panic, she hindered the investigation with threats and media involvement. It is a sad story.
That article was eye opening. It just showed we have not been getting both sides of the story. If you are really interested in the case you should read the article.
I'm glad you thought so too. The article really opened my eyes to a lot.

Do you know how many times I have taken Ecstacy, and nothing EVER happened to me?
This girl was murdered. She isnt stupid. She was on vacation, and probably doing the same thing every other girl was doing, but she just happened to fall into the wrong hands.

Regardless what her age was, what drugs she did, and alcohol she drank. She was still abducted! We may never ever find out what really happenend to her. I know we all remember Adam Walsh? They only found his head, and never found his body. Its been almost 25 years and the case is still unsolved. Regardless how her mother acted. Her child has disappeared. I want to meet one parent who could stay calm, and not react how she did.

Me too, and I said that from my initial post. I feel for her mother, I truly truly do. I do not know how I would have reacted or how my mother would have, etc.
I also feel for the innocent Arubans (obviously, in a different way) whose country have been tainted. When I was there, I loved the people I met.
You guys are responding to something else, I think, which is the blaming of Natalee for what happened to her - which I think is sick too

My theory on what happened to Natalie:
Natalie was partying at a club that night, probably drank, did some X, maybe even a little Ketamine(Special K), and she was drugged with GHB(date rape drug), which if not measured, can be fatal. She was lured by those three scumbags, taken advantage of, and probably died due to an overdose. Vandersloot, and the Chopra boys, didnt want to call the authorities, and they dumped her body.
I know about these drugs because in my days of clubbing, I used to use them all. And I know their effects, how the make you feel, and how vulnerable they become. Thank god for me, nothing ever happened to me.
Natalie will never be found. Her body was disposed of in the ocean, or buried somwhere,
But, thats just my opinion.
