Emily was in the NICU also when she was born due to first lung problems and then high bilirubin levels and they had me so freaked out. They are good at being overly cautious, but they have to be, since it's precious little lives they are taking care of.
I am praying every day for you and Joey. I know that everything will work out fine, just keep hanging in there and giving him that amazing love that only you can give him.

Talk about conflicting emotions....you want him home, but you're scared to take him home. I remember feeling that way with Joseph. Every time they delayed another day he was supposed to come home felt like a huge setback & a relief at the same time. When they finally said he could come home, we were both petrified that he would continue to drop weight because he couldn't regulate his body temperature.
The monitor is a good thing. I have several friends with 32-31-29 week olds - all had monitors. It was a huge peace of mind that something was there to monitor their hearts & their breathing. So while it seems like another issue to deal with, it may let you sleep better.
They won't let him out until he's ready - and right now it sounds like he's right where he needs to be (this was an EXACT quote from my DH almost 5 years ago)

PS Joey- Aunt T is right - stop scaring the heck out of your mom. You're supposed to do that the first time you take out the car.

What a tough little muffin man you have there...he certainly is a fighter....must take after his mommy! Glad to hear he is gaining a bit of weight an he does look like a strong little man in his pictures! Can't wait till he comes home
