In ANY conversation...she goes off on crazy tangents. I swear...by the time she circles back around to the original topic, we both forgot what the hell we were talking about!
 OMG my Mom does the same thing. My Dad always says "to make a short story long...."
That is hysterical!
Here's a typical conversation with my mother:
Mom: What did you have for dinner last night?
Me: We had chicken for dinner.
Mom: Chicken?! Where did you get the chicken?
Me: Um...Pathmark.
Mom: Oh Pathmark. Did you read that article about supermarkets in Korea? Oh I forgot, you don't read the paper (here's where she reads me the whole article). Then , Mom continues:
So when I was shopping I saw (whoever). Remember her daughter you played with when you were a fetus? Yeah well her neighbor's friend went to your old high school...but only 30 years before you were born. Did you ever meet her?
Blah, blah, blah...
By this time I have put the phone on the floor, changed the baby's diaper, played ball with my son, had a snack, then s l o w l y picked up the phone once again to hear:
Mom: What did you eat for dinner again, I forgot!

She'll stand RIGHT over me when I'm doing something. I mean she can basically chew for me, that's how close she'll get!
Also, she'll say (out of nowhere), It LOOKS like you've lost some weight. In a voice like, "i'm only saying this so you don't think I'm really calling you fat"

My mom used to do this too. We used to give her the hand gesture that said, "OK, can we hurry this along?"

My mom is a complete snob. She always has a comment on someone else's wedding, or child, or house. It makes me uncomfortable, because that is one aspect that I definitely did not aquire from her.

Okay...I love my mom, but we have no communication between us at all.
Every single message she leaves is exactly the same.
"The weather is is blue Skies today, worked with dad on ---------, and watched -----(one of my neices or nephews)...okay...Buy By for now...Mom"

OMG... this is my mother!!!!! she tells 15 different stories at once and I have to constantly bring her back to her original story!!! ughhh drives us nuts!!!
and she is sooooo specific... u get every last detail with her!

My mom tends to make me feel guilty about everything.
She always asks" How's your sister? Talk to your sisters today?" ok, but what about your sisters" - hello, I'm your daughter too and I am NOT my sister's keeper!
She always asks when we go out to dinner if we go to DH's dad's pizza place for a free meal - hello we're not total cheap a***es!

My mom ALWAYS talks on the phone and then I say goodbye, she says goodbye and as I hang up or hit end on my cell, I hear her start another sentence.

Ugh...treating me like I'm 5 still. I want to scream when she does that.
I mean come on mom...I haven't lived at home since I was 18, I have been married and divorced and had a baby of my own. The last thing I need is you reminding me that I need to do things!!!
Oh - and when she constantly asks me if I'm "eating well"? (She lives in GA)
I do love her to death, i just can tolerte her for to long, thats all! LOL

I HATE when my mom refers to us (ages 20's-40's) as kids these days dont know how to....I am like r u kidding with me....thank god things change! She thinks things were much more controllable when she was raising us children vs us adults today raising our children.

Whenever we are shopping or talking about clothes, my mom will always say "Well, they're wearing that now." It drives me crazy. I constantly ask her "who? who are they????????"

And if I try to stop her & say she already told me or am like "Oh yeah....you said mentioned that yesterday.".....she gets mad & says I never weant to talk to her.

She's not good at keeping secrets - which is why I didnt' tell her when I was pregnant either time until I was ready for other people to know.
My friend has a mom who is constantly criticizing her clothes or cutting her down with her "honesty". She said this book was great:
