Wishing you lots of luck this morning! I woke up today just after 6 am and had been dreaming that you had posted about a VERY successful IUI today saying that 2 of your follies had tested for a BFP. (I know, not possible to post this when you get home, it was a dream  )
You could be my second part of the dream for twins! We know the first part came true 
My fingers and toes are crossed for you! I hope with all I have that this month is it!

Well Donna whats weird is I thought I had one follie at 23mm, turns out there's 2 of them and she said both look like they are gtting ready to GO..she believes 100% I will O both large follies, so for the first time ever we have a 2 chance shot!!
Unfortunatly I just got a positive on my OPK so it looks like the timing was bad, but sometimes I get two days of +'s so I am hoping I will get one tommorow as well and then IUI on Monday again or that today and BD'ing tommorow will work!!
I am doing an HCG anyhow tonight.
I would go tommorow but just doesnt seem many will make it to the clinic if theres a freaking blizzard!
anyway, Thanks for the thoughts. I will just pray now!

Please forgive my ignorance here Donna, but if you got your positive on your OPK, wouldn't that mean your IUI this morning would be a good thing?

Not ignorant at all silly 
A positive on OPK means that you will O within 24-36 hours from the positive. So , if I had an IUI this morning , but dont O till tommorow night. Then the timing was too far off. Regular sperm can live from 24 hours to 5 days in CM, but washed sperm( they wash it before the IUI) has been known to only last 12 hours or so ( up to 24 on occasion).
So If I O tommorow, Mondays IUI would probably be too late....ITs tricky timing, thats why IUI success rates are actually lower ( 10-15% each time) then regualr BD rates, because the washed sperm is more concentrated but cannot survive as long.

Donna I have a good feeling about this month. get some BDing done tomorrow and get that IUI MOnday it might not be too late. Besides switching clinics, did you do anything different this month to make such a great difference. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

We really just increased the clomid, and the Dr said sometimes after cysts you get more follies the following month , so Im just really hopeful and excited and its been a while since I have felt that way....

Washed sperm can also pass through the tubes way before the egg is even there. When they insert the washed sperm it's not traveling in cervical mucus , therefore, it's goes everywhere.
I also find interesting is the technique in which they wash sperm for IUI differs then how they do it for IVF. IUI sperm washing is a much simpler sperm washing technique. For IUI's they do not separate the live from dead sperm. Any bacteria, or white blood cells and debris that was part of the semen is used for an IUI.
If you read Dr. Silber's book How to Get Pregnant...he is really not an advocate for IUIs. He said it doesn't improve chances over regular bding. However, hostile cm is an issue or if there are cervical issues....IUI can be a good choice. Washed sperm also helps with motility, so if there is male factor motility issues, IUIs may be something to consider. Many Re's push IUIs in NY because many insurances here cover unlimited amounts.....however, if you notice women who are in other states aren't always directed to do IUIs.
I believe that clinics need to monitor their patients with u/s and bloodwork and not ask their patients to use opks to track ovulation. It is critical to have IUI timing correct.

Michelle- One thing that was pointed out though today actually was the lab guy at NSUH at the andrology lab said they DO wash out any debris, and will likley not do an iui if theres any whiteblood cell count. The women in front of me, he told her her husbands sample had debris is it, and he noted it on her chart and that he cleared it out.
So it is possible during IUI.
He also explained that the washing should increase the motility by at least 50% and if it doesnt, then the sample is not a good one or not washed properly.

AY NSUH, you actually go and pick up from the lab your sample after its washed, and the tech went over each number and answered questions. The lady in front me of me talked to him for a good 10 minutes....The lab tech was VERY nice. HE even knew who was coming in on that day by name..IT was a much more personal experience for me.
