Plus Size & Preggo
Hi Ladies
This is my first official post on the Pregnancy board. I just started my 11th week and feeling great.
But I could use some advice from other expectant moms who started off plus size. Where are you finding good materinity clothes? How is the fit?
My usual clothes are fitting fine still, but we have a vacation to St. Martin/Marteen in September and then a cruise in November and I'm worried about finding summer clothes for those trips if I wait until then.
Any advice would be great!

welcome.
I started off a 14 and got a lot of stuff from the gap (both @ the store and online).
I've been walking a lot and eating TONS of fruits & veggies. I haven't been denying myself anything but I am trying to make smart choices.

Congratulations!!
I don't know what stores carry plus sized maternity but I know Motherhood.com (and the other links on their site) have some. I also think Oldnavy.com has some.

Maternity Works in Tanger (Riverhead) has a few racks of plus size.

I would say try Motherhood and JCPenney. They have some great plus size stuff and they fit very well.

I'm a 16 and Motherhood had stuff that fit me. Usually their XL stuff is good for me.

JC Penny online is great. You can always return it to the store and you can usually find coupon codes at naughtycodes.com
Motherhood had some nice stuff as well.
Old Navy XXL was too small for me but maybe it would work for you, they always had cute stuff.

If you go to Lane Bryant online they actually have a maternity section. The selection isn't that big but I have gotten shirts and they fit nicely, plus it isn't that expensive anf they send online coupons all the time!!

Congratulations!!!!!
I really can't help too much on the clothing front because everyone is different. I was in regular clothes until about 22weeks. You can always get stuff online so I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to find stuff.
I like this website for inexpensive clothes...Imaternity

So far so good...we had our first sono on the 13th and he said everything looked A-OK then so that really eased our mind.
I have my second check up with the doctor tonight so we'll see if progesterone supplements did the job.

I stated out at a 16 and Old Navy and Motherhood clothes fit me up until I delivered. I also wore DH's shirts towards the end.

Congratulations!! For pants I just bought elastic waist pants in a larger size. For tops I was able to wear an XL in any maternity shirt.
You mentioned going on a cruise in November...How far along will you be then? I know most cruise lines will not allow a pregnant woman on board after a certain week in their pregnancy. You should check with your cruise line.

Thanks! A friend of mine told me that she just ended up buying a size bigger and looking for elastic wastes for most of the pregnancy.
We kind of planned around the cruise a little bit. The cruise is the first week of November (my sister in laws wedding). I'll be 26 weeks then, so barring no complications, it's within my doctor's concerned timeframe and airline and cruiseline criteria. We got travelers insurance just in case though.

Congratulations!!!!!
I was pg over the winter so I was able to where my sweaters and most shirts. I honestly didn't look pg until 32 weeks. I got jeans from Motherhood Maternity and a few stuff from Ebay. By the time I was showing and needed clothes, I wasn't working. This time around I'll probably look at JCPenney, since I'm working.
