Anyone watch a baby story at 2:00 today??
Yikes! This episode made me think EPIDURAL all the way. The poor girl was in so much pain and her husband's reactions were so realistic. I called my girlfriend who wants to go naturally too and told her "whatever you do DONT turn on TLC for the next 1/2 hour!!"

My sister delievered all 3 of her kids w/out any drugs. If I have a VBAC I'm going to try it.
I didn't see the episode but I'm assuming there was lot of screaming. I don't think I can do that no matter what pain I'm in. I would be mortified to know that I screamed!! (sounds silly I know)

OMG, I saw that!! Luckily, I signed up for an epidural before I even got pregnant What's also crazy is that their restaurant is like 10 blocks from me--I'll have to stop in!

My friend told me not to watch A Baby Story while I was pregnant. She said that it would frighten me. Meanwhile, everytime I watched it and the baby was born, I would cry.

well it was a day after my due date and i woke up at about 5:15 am uncomfortable but not in severe pain or anything Husband (my ex) was not around and i got up and made a call to my dad to tell him i might be going into labor could he come and take me to the hospital. So in the mean time my pain got worse and worse and becuase i was nervous i started to pace bake and forth and just walk around my house BIG MISTAKE (i think this is what brought on the labor quicker) so finally i layed down on the couch and POP GUSH my water broke and i was like thank god it releaved so much pressure.....for a second(so at that point i called 911) lol then i felt the baby like right there and in my head i though if i push and get her out all this pain will be over so that is what i did....3 Pushes later she was out! i grabbed a towel wipped her off stuck my finger in her mouth to clear her airway and basically beat the crap out of her back to make sure she was breathing. I did not cut the cord that is where i drew the line! lol afew minutes later the paramedics got there and were like wow they took her to check her out and and cut the cord. Then finally my dad shows up and had this look of shock on his face and he rode with the baby in the first ambulance they took her ahead of me becuase she was having some breathing problems...then i went in the second ambulance ...when i got to the hospital the ambulance brings me to l&d and the nurse was like how far apart are your contractions i was like WHAT???? i had my baby and she is supposed to be here!!!!..i freaked ...but she was ..they got her Time of birth off the 911 call so she was born at 6:03 am the entire thing started at 5:15 so it wasnt to long. I often wonder if i was in labor in my sleep or something. I think god had to show me i could do it i always had said i could never have a baby without drugs. lol When my sister went back to my house she said it looked like a crime scene in there neddless to say my couch was now garbage lol .....can you believe my one sister said why didnt you put an old shower curtian down or something i was like are you kidding me im sorry i didnt think of that while i was delivering my own baby. Afew months later when i went back to work (i worked in an er) this paramedic says to me you look really familiar and i said hmm really? i knew exactly who he was becuase he was hot and he was at my house the day i delivered my daughter (figures) so he then gos wait a minute you had a baby at home ....i remeber now i was so mortified!!!! lol lol he then told me that they took my daughter first becuase she was in severe distress and was hardly breathing I thank god she was ok!!!! I think my mom was looking down from heaven and helping us both that day!! Now when i tel my daughter that story (she is 4) she laughs she thinks its so funny !! And that is my story of how Paige was born! lol

Wow that is some story.
It is stories like that which make me even more determined to get through my birth naturally. I just feel like it is what my body was meant to do and I want to experience every moment of it.
I love watching A Baby Story. Sometimes it freaks me out a little but the end result is so amazing and the women who go natural seem like the pain is gone as soon as they hold their baby.

too be 100% honest natural imo is better even though the pain is unbearable it is over at that moment my daughter seemed so much more alert and i had alot of side effects from the epidural i had with my son, i had a nonstop headache for weeks which the doc told me was a side effect from the epidural! To each his own!!! best of luck to all!!!!----thanks for the nice comments!!!!

OMG! You are amazing! It really shows you that we all have strength we don't even know we had. I'm sure your daughter will love that story for the rest of her life!!! Especially when she becomes a mom!
