I used to live in Bay Shore and commute to Manhasset... about 45 minutes without too much traffic... an hour with some traffic. After my son was born I couldn't deal with the commute. I now live in Sayville and work in Bohemia. It is less than 10 minutes and I love it. I wouldn't want to commute more than 30 minutes.

We live in Oakdale. My last commute was three miles and is now three feet!
I work from home doing www.djchic.com that got started while planning our wedding! I love my commute!!!

Forest Hill to Midtown NYC - 30 minutes door to door.
I love it and better enjoy every min of it cause June 2007 my company is moving to Parsippany, NJ - which will be at least 1 1/2 hours each way!

9 with 'heavy' traffic, 5 if theres no traffic and i slam on the gas while the lights are still 'yellow'  
30 minutes, if traffic is bad 45. Not as bad as some of you, but I still hate the commute!!

I commute from Monroe, NY to Manhattan by bus - we leave the house at 7am and I don't walk into my office and sit down at my desk till 9am...in fact today was later...about 9:10! I hate my commute. I used to live in Chelsea - it was 15/20 minutes door to door.

Me: Syosset to East Setauket, about 35 to 45 minutes
DH commutes to NJ, takes him about 1hr and 20 min.

Right now my commute is 75 miles each way.  Plus, I'm traveling all over the state (CT) for late night meetings so my commute is sometimes longer. We're planning to move as soon as DH gets a job in that area.

On a good day 60 seconds I work from home as much as possible.
When I have to go into the office (assuming I leave at the right time) about 55 minutes - driving not trains. On a rainy day it can be 90 minutes

I used to work in Minelo when I 1st moved out here 90 min commut NO WAY not for that pay

I live in Selden and work in Riverhead about 40min.
My dh commutes to brooklyn, but he works off hours so its only about an hour ride for him.
