I noticed them for the first time when I was 20. Now, 10 years later, more than half of my head is gray

17 My Irish-Catholic parents are one big recessive gene.
I've been dying my hair since I was 18... If I let it grow in I'd look like Emmy Lou Harris, seriously I have completely white roots and I'm 35.

I was about 21, now that I am 28 I have got so many, I can't even pluck em because there are too many. I am actually dying my hair tomorrow, I just can't stand them. They were ok when I could only see them if I went really close up to the mirror and looked at them, but now when I look in the mirror I can see them from a distance, so they must go!!!!
My brother was 18 when he started getting them and now at 26 has a ton. My dad had a full head of gray at 16, so I guess premature grey runs in the family!!

I have discovered any YET. I constantly get my hair highlighted but I am in denial telling myself its blonde hair.

I guess it must be my Irish genes then. I first noticed them at 16 and now I have A LOT!! I can't imagine what my hair would look like if I let it go natural. The roots look bad enough! My Dad has been all gray for as long as I can remember and so have his brother and sister. Probably all gray by 30. I hope that's not what I have to look forward to in 2 more years!

I found my first gray hair when I was only 9 years old!! Fortunately I didn't get another one until I was in my 20's. I never pluck just in case there is some truth to that old wives tale that 10 will grow in its place.

Discovered by my hairstylist at 16!
Its just this little area that gets them and thru the yrs I find strays. I pluck...i know its terrible.
Thank god for hair color!

ABout 27 or 28, it was like 1-2 a year, now at 31 there are a few more...I get rid of them though, they bother me!!!

I noticed my first when I was about 35 but then I got pregnant and my hair started growing in much darker than my usual color (my hairstylist pointed this out to me) and now I don't have anymore grey (it's still growing in dark - never went back to my original color). Go figure!
