I don't mind!!! I try not to, but I still go on LIW because I enjoy hearing about them/seeing pics. I think people just don't want this to turn into a duplicate board.

I don't post wedding stuff here because my wedding was utterly frustrating (my reception hall s.u. cked big time!!). I am trying to forget about the whole mess they made out of my wedding!!!
If someone posts wedding stuff here, I just don't post a reply.

In the beginning of LIF many of us had just come over from LIW and finished planning our weddings. I will speak for myself when I say I was sick of hearing any wedding talk and wanted to chat about anything but wedding planning. Now, since my wedding was over a year and a half ago, I don't mind. If I have something to contribute, I will, if I don't I just don't respond. But like any other topic, you are free to post it.

I dont think its "taboo" but I guess the planning process seems so long ago, I feel like I cant 100% relate anymore even though I do visit LIW to give advice.

Nope, there aren't any rules or regulations on posting wedding stuff here... and overall I don't mind those posts at all. Then again, I am nearly 2 yrs past my wedding so I actually enjoy the topic again sometimes, whereas RIGHT after my wedding I was sick to death of it 
I guess since most of us came over from LIWs, the overall feeling is that we not make this a similar type of board, plus if it comes to vendors and such the info gets outdated if you've been married awhile. But for those who were never on LIWs nor feel like making an account just to post one wedding question there (or maybe they just feel more comfortable posting here becuase their friends are here) I guess it makes as much sense as asking about baby showers or anything else for that matter

Jen, I think Mel's referring to the fact that whenever a wedding thread is created, the title usually says
"Sorry, wedding related"
