CVS today- UPDATE AT END
I am so scared- I know I am going to one of the best in the country but I am still nervous. It doesn't help that its the last day of school and I have so much to do and I am leaving early. Plus we need to sign loan docs to close on our house on Tues. SOOO much going on- the only thing I am looking forward to is getting this over with and having to spend the day tomorrow on bed rest. It will be the first break I had in weeks.
Thanks for letting me go on and on. I am just so nervous.

Thanks for all the well wishes- fortunately I as well as little peanut am fine but the day itself was a disaster. I am telling this only as a caution that if something doesn't sound right, ASK TO SEE IT!
Ok- this is really long but I think everyone needs to know.
First we get there and are told its 3 hour wait since the doc was on vacation and does about 90% of the CVS in LA. So we get comfy and DH gets us food. Then they check me in and remind me to double check with insurance that the procedure is covered - I told them I did but I got nervous so I check again and this dumb girl says only amnio is covered. I get really upset and tell the nurse at the practice and she says to call back and tell them it s medical neccesity. I get a normal person who says I am covered and who told me I wasn't? I can't remember so she checks the call log and she never logged the call. Too bad, since the lying wench would have gotten fired. So that was the first lesson in incompetence.
Then I am being prepped for the procedure- the doc is great and the nurse asked if I finished my antiobiotics for Strep B. I am like- what antibiotics- they never told me I had this problem. She says the lab work came back positive and if I didn't take the medicine the doc has to do the procedure differently. You can tell he is not happy about this but I refuse to reschedule as he suggested since I already lost a day of work.
So they do the procedure through the abdominal wall rather than vaginally which MUCH more painful. After the procedure was done I asked to see this paperwork since I want to know who screwed up. TURNS OUT IT WASN'T MY PAPERWORK! It was the girl before me with a similar last name. I knew it didn't sound right but I was so nervous and wrung out from fighting with insurance that I gave in.
WARNING- Always ask to see your chart if something seems off- I wish I did and I would have avoided a painful procedure. I feel sorry for the girl before me- if she hadn't taken the antibiotics or she wasn't ok'd to have the procedure the vaginal way, she risked infecting her baby and possibly misscarrying! 
And this is the premier practice for this procedure.

I am happy that you and the baby are fine but I am shocked that the doctor, nurses and staff all didnt catch that theyhad the wrong person!
I would def report this.
May i ask what hospital this is?
Didnt the doctor address you by name when he came into the room?
I know these things happen but this is nuts!

OMG thats terrible! Its terrible that you had to go through something so painful when you are so vulnerable!! I think some letter writing and phone calls are in order for you.
When I was in the hospital, everytime anything was done for me or the baby, two nurses came over and checked the paperwork against the number on mine and the baby's wristband to make sure they had the right person.
I wonder if you could consult a lawyer on this one...

Believe me, if anything happens to me or my baby, I have names, dates and info all documented. This was at Ceders Sinai in LA- and he is one of best doctors around. He called me by name and my chart was mine but the lab work for other girl got put in my file by mistake since our last names were one letter off. The nurse is the one who screwed up the paperwork but again, I DIDN'T check what sounded odd. I was the last procedure of the day and plan on mentioning it when I call for my check up next week just to let them know I haven't forgotten about. In the end, there was much more harm to the other patient than me.
