Today at work i got devastating news about a co-worker/friend's daughter
one of my co-workers daughter who was 18 years old was killed last night by a car she was walking home from work on 347/terryville rd  and a car hit her.she worked at atria. sorry i am so upset i knew the girl. she was on her cellphone i know no one should be on the cellphone while walking but we dont know what happened and why she was on the phone at that time and when she was crossing the street a car hit her it happened around 10'sh last night and put it this way the only way they knew it was her was because of her name tag otherwise they could not regonize her. 2 of my co-workers who work there is related to this girl one is a aunt and the other a uncle. the uncle asked me to do a collection so we as a unit where we work will give her the money for her loss. i feel like i should do more but dont know what?i am just sooo sad today. thanks for listening. and please do me a favor pray for the family.T.I.A.

OMG that is terrible.
My mom died under similar circumstances (obviously no cell phone) crossing a busy road at night at the age of 38.
That young girl was so young
If you want to do more for the family you can bring over a cassarole, walk the family dog, offer to do some grocery shopping, etc. When a young person dies the family has so many people paying their respects... and then the young girls friends... it really can be overwhelming.

I agree...Or your coworkers could all give flowers. I think it's a little odd of her uncle to ask you to collect money for them without saying what it is going towards....A scholarship fund, etc... But that is absolutely horrible! 347 is so dangerous...I think that every time I see people trying to walk across it...

i dont think she has a lot of money for insurance i think maybe she can fly her mom who lives in dominacan republic here for the awake and funeral. thats what we were discussing today.
