Looking for Sympathy ...how do you deal with
a death in the family while you are PG?
My Grandfather died this morning and after a long cry (at work...) I felt so drained I could hardly keep my eyes open. I've felt this way all day too. I'm trying not to think about it because every time I do I get pains in my abdomen and I know it's not good for me or Baby J.
I'm so sad...how do you guys handle stuff like this? I don't want to stress out my body but I don't know what to do.

I have not had to deal with tragedy like this so far in my pregnancy...I'm at a loss for words...

I just lost my aunt last week...
Apparently my family had known it was coming for over a week...but did not tell me because they didnt want to stress me out... in the end not knowing anything was more of a shock!
It was hard...but I got through it... Lots of for you.. and if you need anything feel free to ask!

OMG, I will say a prayer for him, as for you, take a rest, lay down, cry it out- the worst thing to do is hold it in, you are full of emotion now too, take a hot bath and cry, try not to stress about being upset too- I know sounds twisted. God Bless!

Kathy,
I am sooo sorry for your loss. I think you really need to allow yourself to be upset. sadness will not hurt the baby. If you try and ignore it and don't deal with it you will in the end feel worse. Be sad, cry, and let people know how you feel. You are not alone and have lots of friends and family for support. If you are tired or drained rest. If you get bereavement time at work, take it!!

I lost my grandpa at the beginning of my pregnancy also and I never even got to tell him. I really wore myself down running back and forth to the hospital, not eating right, and crying my eyes out.......just try to take it easy and know that it is ok to cry....the baby will be fine. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss...hang in there!!!

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. I can completely relate to the fear of dealing with emotions during a pregnancy. My grandfather was given "about a year" to live this past March and my baby is due in Jan...so as you can imagine my whole family and even my grandfather has said " I really hope I (he) make(s) it to meet the baby" I feel stressed about that often.
