There was just a strange man in my yard! OMG !! UPDATE!
So I was driving by my house on the way to my Moms and I noticed a man riding his bike down my driveway, so I quickly turned around and when I pulled in my driveway I saw he had parked his bike in my driveway and then was walking around my backyard. When I pulled in he hopped back on his bike and asked me if I needed my yard raked as he rode by me - kinda wierd right! So I told him to get out of my yard. He was not looking for work because he was hightailing it down the road and he was dressed in a very clean white shirt. I went to my Moms and called my DH who told me to call the police just in case (i told him I did he is a cop!  ) so I called them and they came by and took all the info and are going to keep an eye on the neighborhood - now I'm creeped out!

That sounds pretty scary considering all the robberies that have been going on in Nassau as per the news....Glad that you reported it to the Police. And glad that you are OK.

he's probably scratched your house off his list...now that he knows that the homeowners are vigilant! do you have an alarm?? if it helps you feel a little more secure...set it. just remember to disarm it if you're going to open any doors.

two detectives just stopped by and wanted me to give a better description - apparently he broke into a house down the road at 3-4pm, which is after I saw him!!! They said I stopped my house from being broken into!! I Cannot believe it! They want me to look at some pictures tomorrow!!!
I AM TOTALLY FREAKED NOW!!!!

Jenn please make sure everything is locked up tight and turn on all of your outside lights. You can also request to have a sector car patrol your neighbor. Tell them that you are in fear because this man saw you and your kids and knows that you are alone!

My DH is a cop too so they are going to be around  but I called all the neighbors and let them know....
of course my DH called and said he had to work late!
I live in Southampton.
ETA - I'm wondering if he was watching the house because I only left for 5 minutes to go get my son from school right down the road - it was the only time I left all day!

Holy CR@P!!!! Thank goodness you were there at the right time to stop him from breaking into your house!!!!! Please - if you don't have one already - get an alarm installed asap!! it will at least give you SOME peace of mind!!

I just cannot believe the timing I had!
We have a shed out back with tons of stuff in it....a huge camper right next to the house with 3 TV's, VCRs etc in it that wasn't locked (Now it is!!!) I don't even lock my car and I have all sorts of stuff in it....
Boy am I thankful tonight!
