Careers: What do you do for a living and do you love it?

Come on ladies...What do you do for a living, do you love it and would you consider a career change?

I think I am getting bored of my career and want to change but not sure to what?

I was in computers for a few years... and got tired of the layoffs and the uncertainty in the business world....

So I went back to school, got my masters degree and became a teacher! I just got tenure in a high school on Long Island and I really do like it--but it is the hardest job I have ever had.

Yes, I'm on summer vacation and it's AWESOME... but during the year you are consumed by grading and lesson plans and thinking about your students.

I am glad I made the switch... but it isn't easy!!

I work in advertising and I have always loved it- I have not always loved my job-- but I love it when I am at the right company.

I would consider a career change-- but anything I did would roll up to my skills in advertising and marketing-- so regardless of what I did, it would always be an aspect of my carreer.

I am a state psychologist

i LIKE it...
but it soes have its moments that is for sure...

But i think trying something new could be fu to....but i am not actively seeking anything

I am a high school biology teacher

I am coming up on my 2nd year so I don't know if I love it! Its a really hard job!

I used to have a corporate job (finance) then I played around with floral design & event planning for a few months.

Now I have a real estate appraisal business.

do I love it? no, but I love

the flexibility - that I'm not in an office 9-5

the dress code

that I can work from home and/or take my daughter to the "office"

that I'm not working for the man - I'm working for myself

I am a pre k teacher.(scary isn't it?/).

I love it. These kids are like sponges.. they remember everything.

I work p/t in the summer. Last few summers I worked at Sylvan Learning Center. But this summer, I work at a "little camp" near my house. (only three days a week)

I'm a career counselor at a university - and yes, I do love it.

I work in university administration. I love the mission of the university, and like the atmosphere, but am not particularly thrilled with the pay throughout the university. If I got to do it over I would do school district administration. Higher ed. just doesn't pay that well compared to superintendents/principals/asst principals, though I need a doctorate for my job. I also adjunct teach master's and undergrad classes, which I usually enjoy.

Before this I worked on Wall Street and hated it. Before that I worked in event planning at a Wall Street firm and at the White House. Event planning was fun in theory but involved dealing with a lot of pompous self-absorbed jerks.

I worked at radio advertising company for 6 years in the city. I loved the people that I worked with (and the money) but I hated dealing with the nonstop BS (oh and a crazy lunatic boss)

I now am selling real estate on Long Island. I think it is the perfect job for someone who is planning on having a family in a few years. Very flexible schedule, potential to make lots of $$, and got rid of the psychotic boss!

I'm a 4th grade teacher. I love it and can't imagine doing anything else. Yes, it is a tough job and your day does not end at 3:00 (like everyone thinks), but its a job that's very rewarding.

I am a Controller aka Ap/AR, HR, Payroll, Accounting and all other things lame!

ETA: I consider changing every single day/every waking hour

I work in insurance. I wouldn't say I love it but it is okay and it pays the bills

I work in higher education. I work in the Office of Admissions and I teach. I LOVE my job. The pay was not so great in the beginning but since I have moved up the ladder to a new position. Its a good field for learning and growth depending on where you are.

i move oil around from place ot place on ships

VERRRRRY stressful and i get cursed out daily. so far in 2006 ive been hung up on 6 times (i keep track) and ive cried 2x about my job (in private of course)


but when i do a deal, its an exhilarating rush....and i need more


plus is pays great and great benefits

I run a small non-profit but I'm working on my writing - I write fiction and hope to actually earn a living off of my novels (one day).
I will be leaving my job next year though and I'm playing around with the idea of being a ballroom dance teacher.
