I'm so sorry that you are going through this. But I know that you will have a wonderful time anyway and be showered with love at the shower. I understand your husband's response too. He knows how they are and he knows that it's a waste of time. But like you said...*$#@ them!

That does s*ck. I know you're hurt, but try to take your DH's "typical" (insert shaking head here) attitude.
Try as stay positive as you can. Your mom doesn't have to host all of these people and they'll probably still shower the princess  with their good wishes.

First of all, I am so grateful to my mom and sister for telling me when it is because I have been starting to have anxiety over not knowing when it was going to be. However, they told me when it is, and I'm sad because SO many people cannot come JT's family, knowing when it was already, planned a family party for that day. So no one from his side of the family is coming And a few of my really good friends won't be coming. I'm just sad about that.
awwwwwwww im so sorry....im in the same exact boat as you ...my shower i believe is in june and my best friend has a wedding and another good friend has a christening...and some of my dh family cant come either...i dont want to be surprised anymore either..especially since ill be surprised how many other people prob cant come ..but cheer up..it will still be nice..and less stressful.i know its hard..i guess i just try to keep telling myself it may be better...but you will have fun..who ever is there will def make sure you will have fun..they love you!!!

JT is not the "flip his lid" kind of person, and his response to all this was just, "TYPICAL." What can he really do? They obviously have their minds set on having this bar-b-q, so screw them. I'm not going to worry about it anymore. I thought about it all day and decided they s-ck and I don't even freaking care. He did say, though, that his sister is planning on coming to my shower, which is damn f-ing straight since I just hosted HER baby shower in February at my house. However, his mother never bothered getting intouch with my mom or my sister and never RSVPed, so f-ck her, too.
WOW...thats rude!!! they cant just make a freaking shower for their grandchild for a few hours and then go back to the damn party!! SELFISH..im so sorry about alll of this...ya know i would feel so betrayed...PEOPLE

i just re-read the part about you throwing his sister a shower...and they can't postpone their bbq??? well, I hope it RAINS!!! I can totally relate to people always taking advatage of your niceness in a family - and assuming its "ok". Its prob better they won't be there....you can have more fun then!! It does stink some of your friends can't make it but hopefully they will make it up to you1

Thats exactly what I was going to say. I hope it rains and pours all over their precious BBQ! Like others said, the people that matter will be there.
