I love the colors and design but agree that it has to be "fixed up" a bit. Maybe with more details in the wings and the color variations -- like how they do the shading or whatever --- that will make it look less cartoonish. I do think overall it will be a beautiful tattoo! Just make sure you find someone who does it right!!!

swallows always remind me of prison tattoos...I think they have some significance like free as a bird or summat....
Having never been to prison (yet) I don't know for sure

I LOVE swallows (as you know I have my entire forearm covered with one big one and purple clouds, Chinese Kanji's and Apple Blossoms and negative space swirls) and that one is cute but i think u should definately stay away from the cartoonish type as well.
New School or old I am sure it will look fabulous...I do think your rose is more old school though so maybe you should stay with that idea.

jess, im obsessed with yours!!!!!
yeah the drawing was just an idea about how i sorta want it. im droppign it off with him to have him recreate properly. i dont want it cartoonish at all.
