PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE everyone make sure that you take a CPR class if you haven't
Today in class one of my students started choking on a piece of orange. I had to perform the heimlich on him. Thankfully I was able to get it out. I sent him to the nurse and then had to get someone to cover my class because the thought of what could have been, had I not known what to do. 
Please take a CPR class. You can save someone's life.
I had to call his mother to tell her what had happened. WOW THat was probably the hardest phone call as a teacher I will ever have to make. I was crying on the phone telling her he is OK. As a mom I can only imagine what was going through her head as she listened to me.
I am still very teary and shaken up. I can't stop.
My student is fine. To him it's no big deal. When he came back to class I just had to give him the biggest hug but at 12 I guess he still doesn't realize what could have been

I've taken it before but it doesn't hurt to brush up!

OMG   Thank God you knew how to do it. My daughter has almsot choked twice, DH was with me both times. I don't kow how to do CPR.

I was certified for years when I was a lifeguard. I heard they changed alot of things from 6 years ago when I was last certified.
I TOTALLY want to go for another class. Thanks for reminding me.

I really want to take CPR. I told my DH that I have to get certified before Jake starts finger foods because I am so scared of choking.

I took CPR & AED training in my office 2 yrs ago. We are due now for our refresher which I need to schedule.
