Spinoff...I know I'm gonna get flamed but
Is anyone on here NOT a Billy Joel fan?????
I grew up on LI and I am NOT a fan of his. I do not like his music. I grew up listening to WDRE & WLIR (back when they played music that was not so mainstream). Anyone else??? Or am I the only one who can't stand Billy Joel???

I don't think there's anything wrong about NOT liking an artist. There are many artists out there that I'm not a fan of. If someone was to post something about one of those artists that I don't like, I'd probably not respond to the thread or post that I don't like that specific artist...nothing wrong with that....
Everyone have different tastes...in everything.....you find some people that share your interests..and others who don't........a Fact of Life....and nothing wrong with it.
And I don't see why you'd get "flamed" for posting this....but then and there....who knows...... ...I have seen strange things happen around here.......and when I've seen them post...I just go in my mind...Go Figures !!!!

I'm not. My DH's cousin just asked him if I would like to go to a Billy Joel concert with her and I have absolutely no desire. I'm sure he's amazing in concert if you're a fan, but not for me.

I understand that people are different and have different tastes in music as well as other things. I thought I would get "flamed" because I have seen people get flamed on here for expressing their opinion sometimes. I was just curious to see who did not care for his music, that's all.

 I was going to start this thread the other day. I don't see what is so great about him at all. I mean, Uptown Girl was a catchy song, but that was so many years ago. I can't believe he still sells out places

You should have started the thread then..
I like his music because I love the stories behind them. I'd take his music anytime over some of newer artists which voices are "enhanced" so that they sound better....or whose songs are meaningless to me....but hey...that's to me....
I'm certain you probably have an artist that you like which I don't and vice versa....

Same here, we had to put him on the "do not play list" at our wedding. One of the many small sacrifices I make
Actually, I lived out west for about 10 years and then moved back here a few years ago. I heard more Billy Joel on the radio in my first week back than I did during the 10 years I lived elsewhere.

What is funny is that I am now watching the two Billy Joel threads right now. The anti- Joel thread is leading the pro-Joel thread by 3 posts. So I guess the Joel haters have something to be happy about.
