UPDATE... I am on the phone with her now and she wanted to let you all know she is continuing with the sponging and will just paint over if she hates it. It's giving her something to do today lol.
And the color used for the base is Hydrangea by Benjamin Moore.

I like them both. If you don't like how the sponge is coming out, then just paint it all again. You don't want to add too much sponge because othen you are adding texture that might show up when you repaint.

thanks everyone for your advice. I just finished sponging it and I'm still not sure how I feel. I am going to put my accessories back up and then I'll take some pics to show you.
I was doing it wrong in the beginning (that first wall that I posted) and it wasn't until the second wall that I realized I was doing it wrong.
We may end up painting over it I have to see how I feel later on.

I have to say, I normally really dislike the 'sponge' look but you did an amazing job! It looks fabulous !!
And if you wind up hating it, well at least ya tried and you can alwyas repaint..

Thanks guys - I'm happy I did it - that EasterEgg purple was just not doing it for me. The good thing about paint....DH can always paint over it if we get sick of it.
My painting/sponging days are O-V-E-R!!!!!

We aren't into the sponged look... I actually like the plain purple the way it was but if you are unhappy repaint altogether.

I like it!!!!
If you decide that its too light - sponge another layer, but using an eggplant shade.
Trust me - my mother's house is FULL of sponging...there were several color changes throughout the process 
Good job!
