95% completion pics of Andrew's big boy room
I know I haven't posted much this week, but Dan had a week's vacation and we've been doing so much around the house in anticipation of baby girl C's arrival, as well as other house related things since the weather was good for the most part. We stained and sealed the back deck, planted a bunch of plants and such in the yard, power-washed the house, unpacked all the baby items and cleaned everything to get ready to use again, and last, but not least, after 4 months of ssllllooowww progress, we finally picked up Andrew's toddler bed and mattress and got his room ALMOST done. We still have to figure out where we want the furniture to actually be (the room is so small, its hard), we have to hang some things on the wall, put the knobs back on the closet doors, get a new shelf for the closet, etc. Just small stuff, but if I didn't post pics now, I might not get a chance to later.
The room before was our office. It was dark green with oak wainscotting. It had bifold closet doors that looked horrible, so DH had a custom double door closet made for the space and we installed that and then had to redo the moldings and chair rail in the room. DH stained and sealed each and every piece of oak wainscotting, front and back, and that took a year and a day. We had the window replaced 2 years ago and finally finished it. And the floor was redone when we moved it. But it looks great! Here are some pics.

WOW !! GOrgeous room !!!! And Andrew looks so at home and comfy in his big boy bed !!!
Its funny because Nicholas totally shocked us in how well he took to the toddler bed the past month or so. He LOVES going to bed, actually nudges me when he wants to go to bed  "mommy mommy lay down!" and off he runs.
Big brother John Anthony on the other hand  still has daddy wrapped around his finger and he likes to fall asleep with daddy and THEN goes to sleep in his own bed (but he did shock us in how quickly he potty trained, so i'll give him that )

And I love the pic of Andrew in his big boy bed! He is so handsome! Isn't is funny how they just take so easily to the new bed?

ETA: I am also loving his little craft table and the bench with the cushion

Ok, I'm probably going to jinx it, but Andrew has taken the new bed really well.... At least for naps, we haven't tried it at night, yet.

The room looks awesome and it doesn't look small at all!!! Was that the bedding from his nursery and you transfered it into his big boy room?

No, we bought it all new. We had to do a toddler bed because of the size of the room, and toddler beds take the same size sheets and quilts as a crib would. Since we never really did any theme to the nursery, we kept it neutral, we decided he needed a little theme to this new room. He's still a little boy, for now  , so that's why we picked this bedding.... by the time he outgorws his toddler bed, his babys sister will be ready for it.

VERY nice! Everthing looks great very well done!
Let me know how the transition from crib to toddler bed goes at night. My Andrew is still in his crib, we have a toddller bed for him in the basment, but I'm not I'm ready for him to be in a big boy bed yet .
P.S. Our Andrew also has a practice baby doll:). He still sleeps with her.
