Re: Saddest moment of your life

When my grandfather passed away...and that was a long time ago so the pain really never goes away it just fades slightly.

The scariest moment had to be on Sept 11th when we really had no idea what was going to happen next and just being in shock of what actually happened. When the realization of what went on and how many people died - that was def. the saddest moment.

Having to tell my husband on deployment that his best friend was killed in a car accident on monday morning and that I was miscarrying during a 15 minute phone call via a satellite phone that happens once a week if we are lucky oh and let me add the phone had an echo and a delay.

Oh my goodness..................that is horrible

When my mom was first diagnosed with breast cancer, when we danced at my wedding knowing that this is the last time we are really going to be happy together because she was dying and when she actually passed away.

Re: Saddest moment of your life

The morning of August 4, 2004...when I realized that the attempts to stop my labor were failing and we would have to deliver my baby ealry. I was so scared for him. He was so early and so tiny...that his skin was still somewaht translucent. It killed me that I had to wait 3 weeks to hold my baby...and when I finally was able to it was only for 10 minutes. I hate having to watch my baby hooked up to a ventilator, I freak every time he Braided...I cried every day almost all day for 6 weeks...thats when the nurses and doctors finally started to talk about him coming home.

So although it was my saddest time...its also my happiest...because it is filled with so much love...and the whole experience brought me and DH even closer.

Watching my SIL trying to give birth to her son. We already knew he was unlikely to survive the delivery because of a heart condition, but she was hoping for a miracle so that she would be able to hold him even if it was just for a minute. After hours & hours of labor, they started to tell her she could rest for 10 minutes. I had gone out in the hall during her break. The doctor came out & said "Are you ok?" I broke down crying and said "You know if there's any chance Nicholas is still alive, if you tell her, she'll push him out with all of her might. But since you're giving her so much time to rest, I think he's gone and she's not pushing all the way because she's afraid of what she's going to find out." Then the doctor who had been with us all night started crying too. She said "Ok, we'll get check for her." They brought in 2 doctors to do the fetal echocardiogram.

To this day, I can hear her wails in my head when I think about this.

Second place would be 10 minutes after her c-section. I was asked to photograph him for her since her & her husband were never going to see him again. My BIL held him. I could barely see through the viewfinder through the tears.

ok, my saddest time cannot even be compared to this, I am in tears imagining what you all went through, i feel nauseous!
,my worst was watching my uncle who was more like my brother die, he died of AIDS, /i can still hear his shallow breaths, they haunt me! Also, in 10th grade one of my bestfriends was killed in a car accident. my heart goes out to everyone here, Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Saddest moment of your life

Going to see my grandfather on his deathbed 15 years ago. Watching this tall, strong man who fought in 2 wars, be so dwindled down to nothing in 3 short months by cancer. They told me to expect the worst when we went to see him, walking in his room and seeing him in that state brought me to my knees and i had to be escorted out of the room for a bit. I made it back in to say good-bye. He died that night. 15 years later it still brings tears to my eyes.

Re: Saddest moment of your life

First would be the day we got test results that the cancer my mom had, had spread to her brain.

The second would be the day before she died as I watched each breath to make sure there was another coming. That same day I went to my dads house and when my dad got here I was standing at the top of the stairs hysterical because I couldnt find his suit and how was he going to go to her funeral without his suit!

There are so many more during her 4 month battle and I can still remember each moment as if it were yesterday.

the saddest moment for my entire family was August 27th 2004 at 7pm- when we watched our Mother pass away

the 2 years prior where a roller coster ride of highs and lows- but that was the worst momement

I measure time- in before mom died and after mom died- and boy did the world as we knew change quick

it was also the day I got engaged- at about 5pm- Jake wanted her to know we were going to get married-

I was in 4th grade and my grandpa died. We were so close and he was sick for a few years. I couldn't believe I would have to live without him. I couldn't stop crying at his funeral. He was my best friend.

The day my uncle died Aug, 28, 1998.....who was more like a father figure to me. Very unexpectedly-he had an anuerysm in his front doorway and I remember my Mom screaming Nooo when the phone rang.
Also, I had another uncle die in a fire which was terrible when we starting learning some of the details (like it was set by his landlord for ins $ and she said she didn't realize he was home!)

Re: Saddest moment of your life

I was 8, my mother had gone into premature labor. We were on vacation in Maine, she started going into labor, she was hospitalized up there. We(my brother and sisters) had to stay with the inn keepers family for the week. Then my mother was released, we came home. A few weeks later she was back in the hospital and gave birth to Robert. We were so excited about the new baby coming home. My grandmother was watching us and my dad came in. My grandmother started crying really bad, my dad left again. We had no idea what was happening. They told us Robert was in heaven, and never really talked about it again. My grandmother told us to pray for him, we thought she meant pray that he would come back, but when my father told us he wasn't, that was the saddest day. I remember when they took down the crib.

Re: Saddest moment of your life

Mine was when I was 18. I was standing backstage at the Brookhaven Amphitheatre and I was waiting to do a performance, and I saw my mother crying on the side of the theatre. I ran out from the stage to find out what had happened and she told me that my sister called and one of our good friends was killed in a motorcylce accident. He was only 20 yrs. oldChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
