I never went to sleep away camp because I didn't want to. However, my dad is a professor, so he used to ask us where we wanted to go to camp for the summer, then apply for a job at that camp and we'd go for free It was AWESOME spending so much time with my dad all summer. I attribute my extremely close relationship with my dad to his willingness to spend his summer vacation with us
This is just so adorable to me . . .

i went away one summer to a came in ct but iw ent to day camp in whitestone for many many years
Believe it or not..they tore down this camp & today... my house is built over it.

I did. I went from 8 years old-15 years old. My parents were both teachers so we would go to camp for free while they worked at the camp. I will tell you I got flack from my friends at home because none of them went away however it was the best thing I ever did. I have the best memories from there.... I hope to send my kids when they are old enough.( although I have to start now since it is very expensive) My camp was in the Berkshires and it was so much fun.
What camp? The camp I went to was in the Berkshires too!
Mine was in the berkshires too... probably played you in intercamps... I went to Crane Lake for like 8 years or something...
