The most awful thing happened last night
I went to my cousin's 8th grade graduation party--it's a big event, the whole school goes--and all of a sudden, her teacher had a massive heart attack!!!!!!
My aunt is a nurse and started CPR, and I called 911, and someone from the hotel got an AED machine--but the BATTERY WAS DEAD and they had to wait for the paramedics to bring one.
I have never seen such a horrible thing--she was blue right away, they kept shocking her, and doing CPR, and they even intubated her, but it wasn't working. They were still doing CPR compressions while wheeling her out to the ambulance.
They rushed her to the hospital but my older cousin (who went with my aunt, she works at that hospital) called a while later and said that she died.
That is the 3rd teacher to die this year--and one has pancreatic cancer... my poor cousins were crying... and I can't get the image of her out of my head.
As a teacher, we have to be trained every other year on CPR and how to use the AED--and I don't know if I can ever do what my aunt and those paramedics did.... and now I can't sleep--I'm so sad for the other teachers.
So sad.

How sad I am so sorry for the teacher that passed away and for all of the students and your cousins who wittinessed this must be very hard.

I can't even imagine...
That is so sad and tragic for the teacher, her family, the staff and the children. I hope they are offering grief couseling to anyone who feels they need it. It's traumatic seeing it happen.

omy that is terrible! i had my girls frieend and her dad in a motorcycle accident my senior year and 24 hours later my principal. 3 in one shot 3 weeks before graduation! my thoughts go out to the family and the staff and students
