i think i may jump off a bridge...... i just found out how much the food is.....

for an 18lbs bag its $45! im gonna go through that like water with these 3 fatties!

oh well, maybe i should get the 35 lb bag for $76?!

and thats on a discount website, i can imagine how much the vet sells it for

ill be eating top ramen! lol

You know, I am suprised the vet doesn't know if it's mange or not. I know when I took Rocky in for his allergies, the first thing they did was a scratch test for mange?!
If you don't feel comfortable with this vet, I would definitely switch. Some vets are more interested in making money than in helping the pet. I learned this the hard way. Rocky has the itchy face and booty, too....it was skin allergies, not food allergies. The first vet also wanted me to buy the expensive food. I went and got a second opinion....and stopped using carpet fresh. Problem solved! Oh, the new vet also prescribed cortisone pills....but they can be dangerous if taken in the long run....so its best to find out whats causing the allergies....

hmmmm, Dharma is on pills too.
how long do you think i should wait before taking her for a 2nd opinion?
i mean to see if it gets better?

she is still itching, but not as much.

im tyring to think what her skin could be allergic to.

howd htey figure out what rocky was allergic to?

I agree that the vet should know if she has mange.

I'd go for the 2nd opinion right away!

How is Dharma doing?

I wouldn't keep her on the cortisone for more than a week. Despite what your vet may say, I have heard from too many different people that cortisone is BAD for dogs and you have to be very careful when giving it to them.

its called Clavamox or somehitng like that.


shes stil scratching her neck but all the rest of her is good again. shes not biting her butt or scratching her nose or ears.

im thinking MAYBE she is still playing with her neck because it was scabby and scabs itch.

Is there something she could be allergic to? Have you used a new detergent when washing your clothes/bedding?

no, we think its her food actually. theres been no change in our habits of cleaning, etc so her skin shouldnt feel any dif due to any changes.

im thinking of maybe getting a new vet anyway since we're moving. not sure yet
