So I had my first internal today..

... and oh BOY let me tell ya that was the most "fun" I've had at the doctors in quite some time

Just kidding.. It really wasn't THAT bad to me, not nearly as awful as I was expecting.

Nothing much is happening just yet (I'm 35wks3d). I'm fingertip dilated and my cervix is thinnning - and is still head down! My doctor doesn't really believe in growth sonos but I will probably have one in the next week or two just to make sure he doesn't flip. I really hope he doesn't

Question for those of you who have had internals already: I have been bleeding/spotting since the internal this morning..and I feel a bit crampy, like very mild AF cramps. I am fairly sure this is ok, right? Just wanted to check that this normal

I can't believe I have less than 5 wks to go

aren't internals fun?? glad to hear you are progressing - as for the cramping, I haven't really had it too bad but hear from others its common, as spotting can be too....

That is totally normal . I was very crampy and I was spotting alot after my first internal. My doctor told me to expect it.

Thanks ladies! I figured that the spotting and cramps were normal .. its just weird to see it after nearly 9 months of no bleeding or AF (I never realized how much I did NOT miss AF )

I had my first internal yesterday but I didn't have any bleeding or cramping.
It was uncomfortable but I was expecting much worse.

I know girls, time has truly flown by .. I feel like I was just announcing my pregnancy! Even though I'm so ready to meet , I feel soo unready all of a sudden too and nervous!

Beth, the internal really wasn't that bad, I promise Except now that I read Marcie's post that her 2nd internal was worse, that'll give me something else to worry about next week

So many of you are right ahead ...( JoAnne, Deirdre.) or right behind me...(Jenn, my date twin! .. and Steph, Beth, Laura..) Can you believe we're all going to be graduating off this board soon and onto parenting.. how wild!

WOW Felicia, I can't believe your little is almost here! YAY!!

I didn't bleed from the internal but my doctors said it was a possibility and not to freak out if I did have some bleeding.

but damn, what are some of these doctors thinking ?!?!?!

Luckily for me, my OB saw I was kind of nervous this morning and she really was very slow and somewhat gentle about the internal.. hopefully she'll continue to be that way!!
