Do you use your oven as storage???
for pots, pans, bakeware, etc or do you have it empty?

I keep it empty. I am very forgetful- so this is definitely safest.
My friend's neighbor used it as stoarge, and forgot- then turned it on to preheat the oven- lets just say she ran out of the apartmetn naked and screaming because of all the smoke.

We have one pan in the broiler.
On a related note, my sister had a bag of rice cakes in her microwave and forgot! She broke her microwave and almost blew up her apt!

New oven today! baking things are in the warming drawer. It's bad enough I never feel motivated to cook - if I actually had to take a bunch of pans out, I'd just microwave.

I have a sautee pan, an omlet pan, a grill pan and a small roaster in there.
On a side note, I had a sautee pan and a glass cover in the broiler area (as storage) and DH needed the broiler. he took out both and as soon as the glass hit the air, it shattered into a gazillion pieces. be carefule what you store in there!

well my mom does & she started a fire a fire. She had crap in there & forgot & started baking a chicken. The stove started to light on fire. The police & Fire. dept came to the house. She learned her lesson!

We used to in our apartment, but we have enough storage space in our house. We do use the drawer under it for big sheet pans, etc.

We don't put anything in it.
MIL used to store her George Foreman in there. Yeah, that's right - she turned the oven on to preheat it and melted the grill right to the oven. DH said the stench of burned plastic was almost unbearable.

No, we keep the baking pans in a cabinet and the pots are hung on a pot rack. I love having a pot rack because everything is accessable yet not in the way.

same here, its not a broiler just a drawer
it would drive me insane to empty the oven every time I needed to turn it on, that is if I even remembered to do it!

I love to cook and I have a ton of cooking pots and pans and baking pans. I have no choice but to use oven and the warmer for storage. When we buy a house, we are going to get a pot rack.
