wanna see the cake I baked for my SD?
my stepdaughters 12th birthday is here & she LOVES monkeys & leopard print. So I baked her a cake with both-the monkey has on a hat just like the hat I will give her to wear. 
one more
She will see it for the first time later-what do you think???

wow what a very nice Job you did on the cake and the hat is very nice too ! you should open a bussiness up and make cakes seriously you are very creative!!

it wasn't that hard if you like to bake...I used two round pans & the wilton stand-up mini bear pan which I modified to look more like a monkey. I used a lot of icing to change the shape of his face & make bigger arms & legs.
I have the pampered chef decorating tool that I used for this...sometimes I use decorating bags & tips. All of the icing colorswere made with white icing & food coloring & I used chocolate shavings to decorate the bottom layer. I still have to write her name on the bottom layer.
I'm a cake baking nut...although I'm really a beginner
this was my DH's b-day cake from a few weeks ago...its him fishing on our lake

That cake is awesome. I'm in trouble now..my dh just asked me if I could make something like that...he loves to fish!
