I'm starting to notice some signs...

I'm not sure but I think DS is starting to rub his eyes now to signal when he is tired. The problem is staying asleep...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

But the other day and this morning I saw him put his fist to his eye and just scrape it by quickly. He didn't sit there and rub it constantly but he just put it there briefly and brushed it away.

Re: I'm starting to notice some signs...

He just did it again! He actually rubbed it a little more. Now is this a sign of tiredness. He's still chatting and babbling.

I can't do anything just yet cuz he's pooping...

Andrew started rubbing his eyes and face and I found out that he was getting eczema and he was itchy.

I know that doesn't help sorryChat Icon

He could just be rubbing his eyes.

I notice with Ali, she always seem to get a glaze over her eyes.

I'm sorry I shouldn't even said anything. If it was you would start to notice red patches on his face. It is like cradle cap which is eczema of the head but on the rest of the body. Andrew now has it on his legs tooChat Icon

Re: I'm starting to notice some signs...

What baffles me is that up till last week he was taking longer naps. Like one nap was 3 hours and another one would be 2 hours. Sometimes 2 and a half.

I don't understand what happened??? What went wrong?

Re: I'm starting to notice some signs...UPDATE

So I ended up putting him down at 12:50 and he's still sleeping. There were a few times where moved and stirred (which drives me nuts!) but thank god he went back. His eyes would open but then go back down. He was in between light and deep sleep...But I would say most of it was in light sleep.

As long as been sleeping. He'll get up soon cuz it's been about 2 hours and 40 mins.

I can't believe it...this is so not him...Chat Icon

when DD started doing this i noticed on average she can handle about 2 hours of wake time before she wants to conk out again and i need to help her get to sleep. she's pretty consistent in the morning but the afternoons are cr@p shoots. start watching the clock a bit and see if he's starting a pattern as well Chat Icon

It's so hard when everyday is different.

And last night it took him almost an hour to fall asleep. He fell asleep at like 9:20 and after 4 1/2 hours he started his tossing and turning. What is causing him to sleep so restlessly. I'm concerned that he is not getting restful sleep. What should I do? He did this on and off from like 2 to 7am! He moved his head a lot.

Re: I'm starting to notice some signs...

That's basically how he spends a major part of his time sleeping. It's frustrating cuz sometimes all this moving around is what makes him wake up sometimes.

God I wish I knew what causes this!

for DD it was (and still is sometimes) gas. i know this because she was farting while fussing. when she learned to flip to her stomach (i believe she did this to accidentally while writing in pain to feel more comfortable) the sleeping was much better.

i used to place her on her side when i was too paranoid about placing her on her stomach. now it's pretty much stomach all the time. she does it herself so i no longer have control, a blessing in disguise.

is DS still co-sleeping with you? do you ever place him on his tummy for naps? some dr.'s say this is okay. also, i find that if 2 hours have gone by and i can't get DD to sleep in 5-10 minutes, i give up and try again when she is even more cranky. i whip out a boob or give her a bottle and she's out cold. i will have to break this habit in the future, but it works well now.

Yes he is still co-sleeping. A few weeks ago I had started the transition to a crib but he was still doing the same thing. Then he got a cold and he was back with us.

I'm afraid of putting him back in his crib because with all the restless moving he does I'd still be going into his room for fear of him waking up.

Re: I'm starting to notice some signs...

By the way he's been sleeping for 2 hours. Since 9:20. I'm sure he'll get up soon for feeding time...

This time he was not rubbing his eyes though.

Do you really think it could be gas that's causing all this restless moving around? Should I try the mylicon drops.
