For the rest of us...
This is my biggest fear. After Terri Schiavo's case, myself and my DH have decided to get a living will, which explicitly states what we want to happen should we god forbid be in a circumstance like this. I urge EVERYONE to do the same. Instances like this do not necessarily arise out of poor relationships with inlaws.

Poor Janet...
I just had a feeling something like this was going to happen when she said she was having in law troubles.
I pray they come to an understanding!
And Ron- You are the best!! You really are a very caring and compassinate person and I know we all THANK you for taking care of one of our family so dearly!

 It is so sad to hear that such a terrible situation in complicated by family matters.
I work in healthcare - so if they do determine after the rest of tests that he is offically brain dead there will be no choice but to remove him from the life support. I'm sure it is hard for the parents to accept.
Unfortunately people use the term brain dead too losely.....most people don't know what it means. Terry Schiavo was not brain dead, she had severe brain damge, but the term is often used. I see it at work often where people hold out for a glimmer of hope (and who wouldn't want too when you hear that kind of news about someone that you love)
I just pray things are easier between Janet and her IL's -this is such a terrible thing to go through.
