Probably an average about 60. He has normal hours, some weekends he needs to go in to check on a job but for the most part it's not so bad.

If he's not traveling then he keeps a lot less hours than me and I teach.

About 35 a week. Seriously, he always takes a lunch (goes to the gym) and he's home by 4:45 each night. He works 7 miles away.

I work 40 a week at my day job, then 10-20 hours a week at my side business. Sometimes it gets hectic, but the extra $$$$ makes it worth it.

thanks everyone. So many husbands have the second job, so I think I will let it ride and pray that his winter break comes soon from school.

DH just started his own kitchen/carpentry business. His shop is in Syosset but his clients are in Manhattan (where we live). He usually leaves for work around 9 and comes back around 9. Sometimes he works Sunday. Its a long day (especially with the commute), but we spend quality time on Saturday.

I work 6am to 2pm, and on the weekends I detail cars

Dh works from 9-5:30...However, he is never, ever out at 530..More like 9-7!

I work about 40 hrs. a week and if I can grab some OT I will. Im thinking of getting a 2nd job too a few hours a night.

He works 7:30-4ish..sometimes he'll stay to 5:00--and only SOMETIMES he has overtime

35 hours/week and a 3 mile commute
but he's got a mentally exhausting job that i know i could never do- so i give him that

dh is currently doing the 7 days a week 6 am till 11 pm ( sometimes later ) thing - if he has the ambition let him do it - never tell dh he cant do somethign - it will only make him feel you dont believe in him - i tried that last year and the result was a big pout fest.

i am sure when he feels it is too much he will cut out something.

DH usually works 60-80 hours a week. I work 48 for 6 months and 40 the remaining 6 months.
Of course our schedules are totally opposite. We only see each other for a few minutes here and there. It's very difficult, ok it downright s*cks, especially since we are both salaried and get no OT. However, we know it's not forever and we will be in a better position financially down the road when he both gets promoted. That is what he is working towards.

He works 8.5 hours a day, but he works crappy hours (3:30-12AM)
