Bad enough he's not supposed to be facing forward yet but ...
What kind of a mother lets her baby sit anywhere in a position like that. Look at how the kid is slumped over. My sons head slumps when he falls asleep sometimes too but that is extreme. It isn't just his head it practically his whole body. If he weren't tied in he'd probably fall right out!

IMO she is one person who shouldn't be having children at all!!!

Re: At least Britney has him in a car seat this time

I agree with ya guys...

But just wondering, how is she supposed to "position" him...

Ryan is rear facing, and alot of times when he falls asleep- ends up in a similar position...

I have bought a few different positioners, and none have made a difference...

I end up constantly sticking my hands back there and physically fixing him...

But if he falls in a deep enough sleep- theres no contolling it...

So... suggestions... please!

I'm in the same situation with Julia, when she is sleeping her head falls foward to just like that. I also have to keep fixing her 100x's.

I do notice though when I keep her not so upright in the seat it happends less. It is annoying!

Marissa - the same thing happens to me and I heard somewhere that that means that the seat is installed wrong, at the wrong angle so I'm going to have mine checked out.

Re: At least Britney has him in a car seat this time

it almost looks like the harness part isn't on right. Shouldn't his right shoulder be against the back of the seat??

this might be a stupid question but, how windy is it in the back seat of a convertible?

I only crack my windows because the wind would take Aidans breath away if opened all the way.

And Aidans head used to slump like that too, little you can do about it. Although as PP said his shoulder should be touching the seat back so I think the belts are looser than a fingertip....

This happens to us all the time too, I feel so bad - but I'm pretty sure mine is installed properly. I wish there was a way to prevent this.

Jillian was the same way.. take two receiving blankets and roll them and put them on each side to prop his head..It should work.. if not Jillian still sleeps that way and she is almost two....

I have one of those neck pillows that I use on long flights. It's inflatable and works really well. Do they make such a thing for babies? Poor baby's neck was probably sore when he woke up.

They do sell baby wings that attach to the straps for support of their head. When Kevin was 5 months and moved to the big boy car seat (rear facing - of course) he started slumping and they helped some. Also depending on the incline of your car's back seat the slumping could be worse. They sell these wedge like things you can put under the car seat to make it a little better or a rolled up towel also does the trick (we did this - we had read it in some documentation).

Re: At least Britney has him in a car seat this time

I have a question though if you have the carseat facing the rear and noone is in the back, how are you supposed to see if god forbid they are choking.

I just ask this cuz someone at my job brought it up. She also said that if noone is in the car with you that the carseat goes in the front facing rear.

I was just wondering that's all...

You can put a mirror on the rear seat that faces you, but casts a reflection of your baby so you can see baby at all times in your rear view mirror. Your co-worker is WRONG. All babies under 1 year of age should be in the rear-facing position AT ALL TIMES for safety reasons, even if no one is in the car with you.
