ii call them by there first names. dh calls mine mom and dad. i do not feel comfy doing it . dh wants me to though

LOL...FI and I were just having this converstation the other day, we aren't married yet but have a son together and his father is like whenever your ready you can call me dad...I was like oh ok but in my head I was like nope, not ready to call you dad just yet! I told FI and he was like my dad is crazy blunting saying that to you, but it was said in a joking matter...so nothing ever came of this, I just find it funny that everyone goes through this too!

I dont call them anything! We have only been married for 3 months but I have never had to call them by name yet for anything. I want to call them Mom and Dad but feel weird about it!

i try to avoid calling them anything 
its funny when i call their house b/c i say Hiiiiiiiii (in a really high pitched voice) and hope that they recognize my voice so i dont have to ask directly for anyone 
i love them to death... theyre awesome people, we just never had 'the talk' and id feel weird just blurting it out. Actually, in 4 years of our relationship, i think i only had to "call them" anything like 3 times, and that was when i was introducing them to people, and i did it as Mr. & Mrs.....

dh does...i call my fil pop, or mostly "you"  - no idea why i find it hard still, it just gets stuck.....my mil i used to call momma, that what dh called her and we still refer to her memory as.

I don't - I call them by their first names - they are definitely not the mom and dad type!

FIL passed away, MIL is usually Bev. Before we got married, when MIL would come home, I'd say, "Mom's home" but I never called her mom. She is so different from my mom it doesn't seem right. She doesn't mind Bev. Guess it will be easier when we have kids and I can call her Nanny or whatever she wants.
As far as calling your IL's Mr. and Mrs. Smith, if you were raised as a sign of respect to do that, its not my place to say anything but You are Mrs. Smith now too. My cousin-in-law refered to her MIL/my aunt as Mrs. Smith and I thought it was very odd since she was Mrs. Smith too.
I'm so spiteful, if my MIL wanted me to call her Mrs. Smith, I'd insist she called me Mrs. Smith too!

I love them dearly but I don't think I could ever call them Mom and Dad. They wouldn't expect me to. I have a Mom and had my Dad and that's it. I've had a hard time just adjusting to their first names rather than Mr. & Mrs.!

No I call MIL by her first name and SFIL(step father in law) Pops
then SMIL (Step mother in law) I call her by her first name and FIL by his first name

Mr & Mrs....
For some reason after we got married I just continued with this and they don't correct me so....I guess some day I will call them by their first names though but never MOM & DAD.... I already have my own!

yes i call my mother in law and father in law Mom and dad i am so comfortable calling them that i actually started calling them that before we were married! Dh still has not called my parents mom and dad yet.
