Re: buy books? library?

I always buy! I love to display all of my books in book cases around the house. I also find alot of joy in lending out my books to others.I find that during a dinner party someone always asks about a particular book on the shelf and it becomes a conversational piece.

Mostly the library, but if I really love a book I have to own it!
I have way too many books around and have started using Bookcrossing.com to recycle them.

total library girl! I can't stand the clutter of having books everywhere! The few I bought I always end up putting on eBay or just tossing.

Re: buy books? library?

I always buy. I too am a total bibliophile and although it would be much more cost effective for me to borrow, I have a "thing" with library books. I have a kind of germaphobia when it comes to books... I get totally grossed out when there is food or (god knows what else) stuck to the pages. Therefore, I just buy new. Luckily I work for a bookstore on the corporate level, which makes it a lot easier on my wallet Chat Icon

Re: buy books? library?

I LOVE libraries ever since I was a kid. I read a lot and go to the library on a regular basis.

I actually love being inside the library. Makes me feel serene and excited at the same time because you never know what kind of treasure you will find just browsing the shelves.

I rarely buy books. I do have some favorite classics at home that I like to re-read from time to time. There are some books that you love so much that you just must own them, kwim...

I actually don't like new books. I like it when a book is used, not comletely trashed but not like it just come off the press, like it has some history. I also love the way old books smell, not nasty dirty boooks, mind you, but just books that have been around for a while. Makes me thing of my grandpa's home who had tones and tones of books. He thought me how to read and appreciate literature...

In case you haven't realized it from reading this post, I am a total geek.Chat Icon

Re: buy books? library?

I always buy. Usually from Barnes and Nobles, but that's just because there is one a block away from my job.

For some reason, I skeeve library books. I always get a buggar or something on the pages and it creeps me out. Chat Icon
