Baby Cameron is here!!! - Pics added
Hi Ladies -
Finally getting a chance to check back in...we had a baby GIRL Sunday night at 8:11 pm. Cameron Alexa Cooke weighed in at 7lb 12oz and I can't even begin to describe how in love we are and how shocked we were that she wasn't a boy!! Every single person thought we were having a boy and I had no typical "girl" pregnancy symptoms.
Here's the quick version on my birth story - Sunday morning I had on and off contractions and then after having sex I started bleeding a bit so I decided to call the dr. She wanted me to come in to be checked out but I told her I didn't think I was in labor as my contractions had stopped. We got to the hospital and I was STILL at 1cm dialated and 90% effaced. The resident who examined me gave me a VERY rough internal exam and was like "there's your mucous plug". Anyway, I wound up going to 3 cm after about an hour and they admitted me at 3:30pm.
When I got to the L&D room I told the nurses I was going to see how bad my contractions got before deciding to get an epidural. The nurses were FANTASTIC and let me walk around and helped me labor in different positions. Long story short, I wound up going completely natural!!! I definitely could not have done it without my husband and the help and encouragement from the nurses. I still can't believe I did it without drugs, but it can be done!! It hurt like h e l l but there's nothing better than when you get to meet your child.
We are in love with our little girl and its been a whirlwind few days. Hope all you mommies and mommies to be are doing well!
