My sister's baby showers was a success!
I have been very busy lately but I had to get on here to thank all of you who gave ideas and suggestions when I was planning my sister's baby shower. Everyone had such a great time, and I used so many of your great ideas. THANK YOU!
We had it at Nocello's in Northport (Thanks to VirginiaDeb and MM2004 ). We invited close to 100 people but ended up with about 70 people there. I was afraid it was going to be crowded... and it was... but it didn't seem to matter. People were sitting most of the time anyway. The food was delicious. We had the brunch. And the price was excellent!
We did candle favors. I kinda didn't want to do candles because lately we have been seeing everybody use candle favors, but I saw a poem online and when I showed it to my mom she insisted that we do it. This is the poem:
"Here's a candle for you to light,
Once the stork has made its flight.
With the flicker of the flame,
Say a prayer in the baby's name."
I got candles in her nursery colors and wrapped them in cellophane, and we attached circle tags with this saying on them. Personally, I didn't think they were that great, but everyone seemed to like them alot.
My mom did a clothesline gift. Thanks to
kdelace and Holly for the clothesline idea!
We also did the library/bookcase wishing well and everyone thought that was the best idea! My mom bought an unfinished wood bookcase and painted it to match her nursery. It is completely filled with books! Now the baby will have a book from everybody!

I changed the poem a little, here it is:
"I want to be a bright child, as smart as I can be
That's why I'm hoping Mom & Dad will read to me

Thank you all SO MUCH for everything.
There is another person that I have to mention for her creativeness in helping me design the invitations!
Maxine - AJsmommy122!!!! She is the greatest! My sister asked me if I could make her invitations with her sonogram picture on it I had no clue what to do. Maxine came up with a cute saying! Unfortunately, I had to change the original design because since the picture was scanned it was blurry when it was large, so I shrunk the picture down and used a yellow/green background with Maxine's saying and ordered them from Vistaprint.com. My sister was so happy with them. Thanks Maxine!
ETA: My sister actually joined this website recently. She posted for like one day and hasn't come back yet. Her screenname is Michelle1123, so if you see her on then say hi!

My sister and her best friend who came from Arizona!
The bookcase my mom made:
The clothesline... my mom had it so they pulled it out of the bag... it kept going and going!
My sister made her husband open all of the gifts! She said it was too much work to do alone! He was so funny opening them!
And here is the cake picture. The BEST CAKE EVER! Chocolate mousse!

I'm glad the shower was a success. I feel like it was just yesterday you were announcing you were going to be an aunt. I can't believe it was her shower already. When is your sister due again? Geesh, that went fast.

I missed the posts pre-baby shower, but was glad to hear it was a sucess.
I'm grateful for you for posting everyone suggestions - I'm saving this post for my future baby showers I help with...GREAT BOOKCASE - I love that idea, it definitely trumps the wishing well.

What a great review and it seems that all your hard work paid off, the shower looks awesome!
We had our rehearsal dinner at Nocello's and I love it there
Your sister is just so adorable too .. she looks great! 
So nice that everyone was able to help you out with ideas from the site, I have never even heard of half these things but they are all so original and cute!!
