Very Excited-I was asked to be...........
Godmother to my new little Nephew Sal.
So, with that..I have a few questions. What are the things I am suppose to do, like buy him for the christening?
I am very new to this also since I became Catholic a few yrs ago.

Each family is different and so you will definitely want to check in with the mommy but here are some things we have done:
Christening Gown/Suit (Check with mom on preference)
Shoes
Underthings
Cross (Pendant and Chain)

I am my nephew's godmother & I purchased his entire ensemble for the day of the christening. His godfather bought him the cross...Check with his mom though & see what she prefers

aww how nice.. congrats!
As Ang said, usually the godmother buys the christening outfit - but sometimes the mom has a preference, etc, so you'll want to coordinate I'm sure

Congratulations!! Break out the wand Fairy Godmother!!
From my experience, the godmother offers to pay for the Christening gown. Godfather buys the cross. I would talk to the mom too.

for dh nephew
WE are the godparents & we got him the christening suit and a chain with a cross
