That is what I thought at first...I did not even realize the legs were open, until everyone pointed it out to me. I am not going to examine the pic anymore, I am making myself crazy and seeing things that are not there

I see what you are referring to in the picture also, but I also happen to think it might be the umbilical cord.. its way too difficult to determine at this point, even at 12 weeks you'd have a better chance of figuring out the gender I think..
And not to confuse you more but just to give you my experience with heartrates.. The old wives tales did NOT hold true for me whatsoever.
Our baby's heartrate has been high since the begining... it was always in the 170s when he was smaller and never really dipped below the 160s range. Due to this, before I had my Level 2 everyone (esp. the nurses) were sure I was having a girl
... but two sonograms later (including a DETAILED 3D sono that showed us for sure) and we are definitely having a boy..!
So ya never know - this stuff can make you crazy

Wow, that's amazing. A girl in my office is due almost the same day as you and she brought in a similar picture. It's crazy that you can see so much at only 2-3 months!!!! It must feel great knowing that is growing inside you... I can't imagine.

genitals arent visible till 12 weeks. But yes, it looks like a penis, but could it be the cord?

I dont think genitalia is even formed yet and I think if it was it would be much smaller in comparison to the legs.
