Ya know what stinks is that when she avoided/denied talking about her surgery before, she made it seem as if having surgery was shameful. As a person who had gastric bypass, I certainly feel no shame.I feel nothing but pride that I made a decision that improved (and more than likely SAVED) my life.
Perhaps if Star chose to be proud of her choice, she could have been an obesity advocate. Using her surgical experience and her law background she could help people who truly needed this surgery by appealing to the many insurance companies who put their clients through the ringer.
By the way, I am almost positive we (Star and I) had the same surgical team. Privacy schmivacy - the "Hospital to the Stars" in NYC has loose lips - not the docs (they are amazing) but the rest of the staff. Just ask Al Roker. And by the way, in case you were all worried, my head (post-surgery) is not too big for my body the way hers is!

I think you are right. Rosie just wanted her to admit it. I dont think she was against it though.
ETA:
I will say this though. I did have more support from my thin friends than I did from my heavy friends when I decided to have surgery. My heavy friends did say that G-d intended for me to be heavy and I betrayed them . Do you believe that?

I think you are right. Rosie just wanted her to admit it. I dont think she was against it though.
if I remember correctly, Rosie was annoyed that Star was deceiving people - telling them that diet and exercise was all it took.

Maybe Star Jones wanted those who couldn't afford the Surgery to beleive more in themselves that they could do it in Diet & Excersise alone!

Maybe so, but she is now looking rather foolish for not being true to herself AND true to her fans who do admire her for her accomplishments. I for one, abhor dishonesty.
If I could have done it on my own, I would have and I venture to say that many surgery patients feel the same way. Odds are that she (Star) did NOT pay out of pocket even though she could afford to do so. I am sure ABC set her up with a VERY good insurance plan and all she had to do was pay for plastics. Al Roker went through his insurance. And I happen to know and know of many people who have had medicaid pay for this procedure as well as the lap band.

Dont get me wrong though, I didnt run around and tell people I had surgery, but if they asked how I lost weight, I told them the truth - thats all.

But in Showbiz there are many perks!(I am sure you will agree w/this)
But everyone has their reasons for the things they do & say!
I really don't care how she lost the weight,she looks good!
Alot of people who are on a mIssion to lose weight really don't like to talk about it because they are afraid of failing!

 Her stylist could be named as well- I saw that one dress that was very "J Lo" the way it was cut.  
I watched it and DH watched by default and he said something interesting- he said that she didn't do anything wrong because she was told that she could leave on "her terms" and that is what she did.
I still don't like her though, and it annoyed me the way she said she had a "medical intervention" but still tiptoed around the word "surgery" till Larry brought it up. And that smile of hers was CREEPY!
I also thought it was funny that they showed the clip of her telling Meredith that her son could not come to her wedding in her husband's place. I felt bad for Meredith and it made Star look mean.

I watched this today. I loved the comment " I'm just not the type of women to get into catfights" Who is she kidding??? She acted like a saint, it was so funny my whole office was yelling at the tv when she was on  Now how can we get rid of Joy Behar next hehe
