I'm not going to explain a thing... because, of course, I DON'T CARE  
Is it right? No, of course not.. but that is the way NY sports press is... the Yanks, 90% of the time, will grab the headlines.
BUT remember- they also grab the headlines when they are going down the crapper too !!! They will blast a Yankee faux pas 1000x time BIGGER than any Mets blunder
AND in the 80s, you couldn't BUY the Yankees a headline in the newspapers... Mets dominated everthing, as well they should
But hey, whatever - I don't think its really a big deal either way. I read the Yankee articles, you read the Mets articles.. does it REALLY matter if its on the front page, page 52 or the back cover??

I have already come to accept the Yankee bias in the papers.
But like FP said... you also get to read the back page when they are in the crapper.
