I'm sorry that you went through this. I also had bright red bleeding with clots. I was 11 weeks and it turned out to be blood next to my cervix. Your body usually absorbs the blood, but sometimes from your uterus growing, it pushes that blood out before it has a chance to be absorbed. Thankfully, I didn't go to the ER, but went to my doctor first thing the next morning to find out that all was OK.
It is a very scary thing when you see blood. Not to mention DH was running through the rooms saying "you just had a miscarriage, you just had a miscarriage" which made it even worse. My mom made him go down to her house and sit with my dad while she calmed me down.
I'm glad that everything worked out for the best.  I wouldn't wish that on uncertainty on my worst enemy
ETS: How could the Dr. diagnose you with something before they even gave you ANY tests? The first thing they should have done was a sono.

This is very scary. I have been to taht hospital since it is so close to us too. Now I know if anything happens I will take the extra minutes to drive elsewhere. We never had good results there.
I am so sorry you went through this, I cannot imagine what a rollercoaster of emotions it was for you.

Amazing and Irritating at the same time. Thank goodness everything is oaky. Sorry to hear of your experience at the ER. I agree, too many ER drs and nurses have poor bedside manners!

I hate that hospital. I don't think they even have a maternity ward anymore, I can now see why!!

I also heard that they stink. They used to be right next door to my OBGYN. I am so sorry and I hope your little peanut will be ok!

This is just ridiculous. It seems like everyone you came in contact with was so unprofessional and incompetant!
The doctors & nurses that took care of you could get into trouble if you file a complaint.
There are STEPS you do before telling someone they miscarried. What if they gave you medication that could of hurt the baby or even worse done something that would have been WRONG. 
Good thing you have such a good head on your shoulders. Emergency Rooms are always crowded and chaotic - however, like you said, definitely go to LIJ-Plainview, North Shore, Winthrop. I'm so sorry that you had to go through all of that nonsense.
Good looking out for yourself & baby.

Oh geez what a frightening experience that must have been. It's scary when doctors don't know what they're doing...
I'm glad things worked out for you in the end...
Please they fucked up my epidural at the hospital where I gave birth. They kept sticking the needle into me I don't know how many times. They didn't do it right cuz I still felt pain!
