Any Yankee fan that does not like this move needs to get their head checked.
This is like the Mets with Delgado. You can't hate him because of the past. Hell... the Mets should hate Delgado more than the Yanks should hate Damon. Delgado last season pretty much told the Mets management to F-off.... literally. He actually told one of the Mets management people this directly.
But he is a Met now... he fills a HUGE hole... we make a division rival weaker. I will now totally support and enjoy that he is on the Mets now.
The same goes for Damon. The Yanks didn't have many holes to fill this year. But this was a big one.
Plus whether Damon was a Red Sox or not... the Yankee fans should at least appreciate how HATED this guy will be in Boston now. He will get booed to **** at Fenway.

LOL i soooo see where this is going from a Yankee fan's perspective.
This is the the fan's way of staying "in the clear" on this one.
If Damon flops... the response will be "I knew they never should have signed him... i always hated him".
If Damon flourishes... the response will be "I dont really like him... but I like his production". 
The same thing happened to Giambi. Early last season they wanted him lynched.
Fast forward four months later... he is taking repeated curtain calls at the Stadium.

At least *I* can admit this is an excellent move for the Yanks. Up until this move... i would have said the Mets had just as good of a team as the Yanks. But this move now puts the Yanks ahead again.

It's really quite said too, boston, as usual, just wouldn't pay up. The fans will hopefully see that AND remember the TON of charitable work this man has done.

Yeah but we did split the series and outscore the Yanks last season with a far inferior team.
Should be VERY interesting this year now that the Mets finally have some bats and a closer that will "bring it".

I absolutely cannot argue you there. You are right. Mets far outperformed the Yanks, and 'on paper' the Yanks were supposed to be the better team. Didn't really work out that way 
I do think that 2006 is gonna be VERY competitive and sooo interesting for sure

Yeah, maybe the long hair is better. He's looking like he has some Posada ears 
I always liked Damon as a player. I liked him in KC, Oakland and then he became the enemy in the Sox uniform. But he always came across as a nice guy. I wanted him a couple of years ago as a free agent. But back then Bernie was in his prime and the Yankees didn't want Damon. It was the right move at the time. There was simply no room for Damon.
I will root for him with no problems. When it comes to Damon I don't care that he played with the Sox. He's a good guy and a good player. But he's comments over the summer now make him look really stupid. In the end it was all about the Benjamins. Now that's opening your mouth and inserting your foot.
