I think I am Pregnant!!!!!!!...updated
Okay, so I realized today that I had been doing the PG test wrong because I am impatient and don't read directions thoroughly!! So I just got home from work and took a test and it was a BFP!!! I had posted this morning about how I got AF but it was very light, etc. and how DH really thought I was PG. Well, I guess he was right! He is at work right now and won't be home till 7:30, but I had to tell someone!!!! I am so excited. We had already decided that we would wait until Christmas to tell our parents if we were. Yay.
Okay, so I got the results of the blood test and it is a negative. 
DH just says that meens we need to try harder and BD more!!

I was P**ing on the wrong end of the stick. I mean, I am an intelligent college graduate. What is wrong with me!!!
But just now I took another Target brand test (only like a 1/2 hour later) and it was negative. What do you think that means?

well, how may dpo are you? What time of day did you test and got a BFP? Your First morning pee usually has the most of the pregnancy hormone in it...so Its still possible to be pregnant, and if you tested tonight, it might not show because there is not a lot of the hormone at this time of night...depending on how many DPO you are..
did you use a different test when you got a bfp then you did when you got a bfn?
maybe ask the Pregnancy board, as most people on this board are TTC, and would not know the answer to your question about being pregnant because a lot of us have never been...

okay, so I took a clear blue easy digital at 5:30 pm-BFP, then at 6:15pm I took a Target-brand test and it was BFN. I have one more Target-Brand and I will take it tomorrow morning. I don't know.

Don't quote me, but from my experience, if the digital is positive, then you are pregnant. I had taken other tests the first day and got faint bfp's and then later that night used a digital and it said pregnant. BUT, if the digital read positive, then that would tell me that you have enough HCG in your body to detect it on the Target tests too. Do you have another digital to try?

No, I just bought the Target. I drink a lot of water during the day, and I am guessing that maybe since it was two tests in 45minutes, that it was too close together? What do you think?

It's very possible. If you got a positive on the digital, I think a congratulations is in order! Me having no patience says, GO OUT AND BUY ANOTHER DIGITAL! I think I used the clear blue easy when I got my BFP at night. I know that First Response has a history on these boards of giving false positives, but never heard anything about Clear Blue...go buy another test and good luck!

Doing two tests that close together especially this early in pregnancy could definately give you a false neg. if you got a BFP on a digital I am saying Congrats!!! Use your first morning urine to be completely positive!!!

I think you are pregnant too - congratulations!!! I got a bfp w/clear blue digital and it registered fairly quickly (w/in one minute). I would bet that the target one came up neg. because it was close together. maybe there was mostly water in your system at that point as opposed to your more concentrated urine the first time. Def test again if you're concerned and let us know!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Okay ladies. So I did the other Target-Brand that was in the package this morning and it also came out negative. DH thinks that it is probably because they are cheapo tests. I bought a digital this morning and am waiting 4 hours to p** and I will test again then with the digital. Man, this is driving me crazy!! I have a regularly scheduled check-up on Monday so I will get definite results on Monday. I will post later and let you know the results of the 11am test!!!

Not sure which target test you are using but if it's the two line one and not the plus /minus. It measures hcg at 50 mius. If you aren't really late for Af, then, you may not have reached that amount yet.

However, I am going to my doctor today to get a blood test done. I was reading that false positives are pretty unlikely, but false negatives are more likely. So, we will see. Unfortunately I won't know for 24-48 hours.  I am so impatient!!!
