Andrea, there's hope that you may go naturally. I was scheduled for an induction on a Wed and went into labor Tuesday morning.

Andrea, I don't know if this will make you feel better. My friend had a baby about a year ago. The doctor told her she wanted to induce labor because she was concerned that the baby was getting too large, even though I don't think she was overdue. They did end up inducing, and estimated that the baby would be about 9 pounds or more when he was born. He ended up being about 7 lbs at birth.
I guess what I am saying is that due dates are not an exact science and if the baby is healthy and not getting too big, they should be willing to wait.

MY OB actually suggested castor oil if I wnated to with my son. Fortunately he came 8 days early.

I was only dialated a cm and Jared NEVER dropped. He was also 11 days late...
I think those doctors never get the date right....they're pretty much guessing. I hope that baby comes for Christmas!!

I agree with this... In the end I had the amnio and found out I was 2 weeks further along then we thought!

They can't schedule you or force you into ANY medical procedure. Call them and tell them that you will NOT be induced until you are 14 days past your due date.
Even if your baby was estimated at 10lbs...who cares? Women have had big babies all over the World, everyday.
Do what you think is best for you and your baby!
