Third...Katie slept 5 hrs STRAIGHT last night again! I seriously need to get down on my knees and thank God!! We got her down at a little before 1am and she slept til 6am!! The sun was actually UP! I couldn't believe it.

She's still a little fussy and I know this is just a short reprieve and we will have another couple of bad days (that;'s been the pattern) but I'm thankful for the break right now.

DH is working today so he isnt around to help, but she is napping right now so I have a few mins to come online.

Tonight my friend is babysitting so we can go to dinner...our first baby free time in the 6 wks since she was born. We may leave her overnight since my friend offered and I REALLY think we need to. We both need to sleep.

I just wanted to update you all again since its been a couple of days. Thank you for all the kind words - about Katie and my situation with her

Can I share another couple of pics? First one we were trying to get her to go to sleep - she wasn't buying it. But finally she slept ...in Daddy's arm...and then we moved her to her bassinet...where she slept til 6am!

I'm glad everything seems to be falling into place for you.

I was going to give you the best gift I could think of - MY MOM. I was talking about what a great site this is & how bad I felt for you haivng your mom in VA. She's offered to come by & help you out for an hour or two if you still want help. Let me know if you're interested.

eta. I could still come by late afternoon tomorrow too.

Hopefully Katie will sleep good again tonight. Maybe your friend will take her next week and you can look forward to dinner then

I hope she sleeps well tonight. As everyone says, 6 weeks really is a turning point. Hang in there.

SHe is so cute!!!

Juliette starting sleeping through the night at exactly 6 weeks and it continued until now....
I hope Katie is the same way!

I think I might try to arrange something with my sister of SIL for next wk end, just dinner. I was so counting on my friend taking Katie and I was really disappointed when she couldnt. She didnt mention next wk end either and I feel bad asking.

DH and I drove around a bit to try and get her to fall asleep last night (didnt work), then went to our friends house for a little while. She didnt sleep at all. Got home, finally got her to bed at 1am...she slept 4 hrs. That's it. She's fussy now - I think mainly bc she's overtired.

Last night was supposed to be "my night" and DH was supposed to take her so I could sleep in the guest room (and sleep well). Well, DH is still sleeping and I'm up with fussy. I didnt get much sleep myself.

Ugh I feel like Debbie Downer (from Saturday Night Live) sometimes. I just needed a break this wk end and DH goes back to work tomorrow.

Well I'm hoping she'll go down for a nap after her next bottle so I can get some gardening done, I loooove gardening and havent been able to do much because I've been so sore from the c-section.

Barb - if you see this, thank you so so much for your offer today. I think we are OK though. At the very least I can leave Katie with DH and take a drive by myself LOL But if you're around at all during the week let me know, I'm around all day every day

Jen - thanks so much for all your help and suggestions re: the AR...hopefully Katie will be feeling better soon too.

Donna - thank you I wouldnt bother you guys ...YET that is!!

I'm sorry you didn't get to go out. I can only imagine how much you need it! Can't your mom come and stay with you for a bit? Or a friend help you out?

Another idea is maybe you could get a Mother's Helper that could come and help you during the day. At least you could go take a nice long shower and not have to worry.

I hope things get better. I wish I could be more help.
