Spinoff to Cancer

on a happier, more optomistic note,
do you know anyone who has SURVIVED cancer?

My friend is now I believe 35 and survived Hochtkins (sp?) alittle over a year or so ago.

Also, my old neighbor whos like a 2nd grandma to me survived Breast Cancer.

Re: Spinoff to Cancer

My little cousin got luekemia when she was about 3 or 4 years old. she is now i guess a teen and is still doing ok.
i believ she goes through transfusions often though.

she has alot messed up with her cuz her mom wasa junkie while pregnant. she has like 1/2 a stomach or seomthing too. its pretty sad she is so tiny.
she lives with her grandma in FLa now so i havent seen her in years.

It helps a lot to have a great support system but also for me,at that time- I just gave birth to my son...he was only 8 months old- no way I was leaving him.

Re: Spinoff to Cancer

My father is a survivor of Hodgkin's (cancer of the lymph nodes). He had it in 1981 and was told he had 6 weeks to live....

Needless to say....the old goat is still around. Stubborn as a mule he is....

Re: Spinoff to Cancer

My MIL had breast cancer, has been free for about 6 years.
DH's nephew had leukemia. Diagnosed when he was an infant, now is 15 and doing well.
My mother had a slight case of breast cancer.
My father has skin cancer.
My brothers close friend had Hodgkins Disease and has been free for a bunch of years.

Thats all that I can think of at the moment - honestly - I think that is enough Chat Icon Chat Icon
