We are so crowded here my desk is right inside the front door.On the other side of the wall is everyone else in a big room.I have the windows which is nice.

My own cube. Not near any windows unless I go into my Director's office, which is right across the hall.
Sometimes I'll call DH on the phone to find out what the weather is doing outside if I'm really lazy.

I have a "pod"
Our office has an open floor plan, so most people work in a "pod" which is really a big cubicle that has 5-6 people in it around a huge U-shaped desk. Only the really important people who make a lot of money have offices.

I'm kinda out in the open, but everybody ignores me anyway so I don't worry too much about what I do. Sad, that I'm already flaunting the system and its only my third day!!

Before I started teaching, I was in the computer industry. At a big LI computer firm, I had a GLASS CUBICLE. It was AWFUL. No offense to the computer people, but some of the programmers are really really REALLY weird, and you just couldn't help but see them and their weird disgusting habits. You could see clear across MANY rows, so NO privacy. Let me clarify--everything ABOVE the desk was glass--but below was covered!
at another place I worked I had just a long table that 3 people sat at, we had "Jeopardy final round screens" in between us, but they didn't block anything.
At my last computer job I had a nice tall cubicle, it was great!
Now I have a desk in my classroom. Out in the open!
