I don't know anyone personally, but I did have to evaluate a woman who is dying of AIDS on Tuesday. It was heartbreaking.

Yes, our next door neighbors son died from AIDS related complications in the early 90's.

I knew several people when I was in the fashion industry back in the late '80's and early '90's, and lost a few good friends. I went with one very dear friend to get the results of his test and thankfully he was not infected. He went because his former lover had tested postive and they had always been very safe in their practices. It was pretty intense standing next to him holding on to him when the doctor came in with the folder.

My BIL's uncle died from AIDS in the early '90s. He also was gay.

I know one person who got HIV from a blood transfusion in the early 80's. He was almost on his death bed using the HAART treatment until he became a "lab rat" in a new study/treatment which is gaining FDA approval. He is now better than he has ever been with HIV.

I know someone who has AIDS...and I knew 3 people who died from it. One was back in the 80s...she slept with this man once and that was all it took

i had a friend that was HIV+. she gotten it from her boyfriend who was the father of her child. sadly to say, she died (4 yrs ago) not too long after she had her son who is about 3 or 4 yrs old now. i think she was 21 or 22. HIV isn't a joke just sad to see people with the disease. let us take more precautions when it comes to having sex especially 1 night stands!!! Wrap it up!

Yes, two people that were in my graduating class from high school died about one year after our ten year reunion.
Another, the son of my Dad's friend. It was never said he had AIDS. His parents were not accepting of the fact that he was gay and refused to admit it was AIDS. They said he died of cancer, technically true, but their lack of acceptance just fuels the stigma

I did, she passed away some 16 yrs ago and because I was young...I was told it was cancer, not HIV. I didnt find out until a few yrs ago that it was.
