Am I being a drama queen?
I don't want to live in a bubble, but at the same point, I don't want to sound like a drama queen.
I am only 6 weeks, but next week is cinco de mayo, I usually bartend. It is a really long night, completely busy and stressful, and I am totally ready to sit this year out. it is great money, but not worth any risk what so ever.
you can be honest and truthful with me, should I sit it out or stand on my feet all day like I am sure some pregnant women have to.

I have often thought that the hardest thing about the first trimester is that you don't look pregnant, but you feel pregnant. If you are tired, sick and uncomfortable at 6 weeks (like many of us were) then sit it out. Don't push yourself!

I agree with Marcie. I would... @ 6 weeks, I still had a lot of energy, and still wasn't hit with the nausea. In fact, I went to bars until I was well past my 5th month.
In your case, another reason why i would say to do it, is because I know you're moving, and having a lil extra cash, for just a couple of hours, definitely does NOT hurt.

To me, it just depends on how YOU are feeling physically these days -- everyone's pregnancy is different, especially in those early weeks. I don't think you are being a drama queen at all to question whether or not you are up for this right now --
I know you have posted about being nauseous and having some M/S, so between that and being on your feet all night, hot in a crowded bar - it might be too much for you right now -
My M/S really got "bad" at about 7 wks and all I can say is thank goodness I have a desk job, or else I would have missed a lot of work! I was exhausted, sick and just so miserable for most of my 1st trimester -- and it was WORSE at night for me.

thanks! the cash is great, really great. It starts at 3 PM and we serve till 2AM. So it is a long day, and I would feel like a complete POS if I did not pull my weight since I will be partnered up with another girl.
I am going to the doctor tonight, do you think he will have an opinion?

that is what I am thinking too. All day long I just sit here, and I think I maybe okay, but on that night may be a completely different scene. We are actually set up outside in a parking lot, it is a draft fire truck with a couple of bottles. So I will be getting air...
My biggest fear is that I over do it and the next morning wake up spotting or something.
My gut is telling me that it isn't worth it....

He definitely will... like all of us... but in the end, it all depends on you, and how you're feeling. If the money is worth being on your feet a lil, then go for it. However, if you know you're going to feel real sick the entire time, what's the point of going to work & be stuck in a dirty bar bathroom?

I would do it, being only 6 wks you should be fine. Make sure your co workers know you need to take a couple of breaks.

My concern besides the fact that by 6 weeks I was already exhasted and had horrible MS, is it a smoking environment? No way would I be able to stand that!

I guess it depends on how you feel. We are a week apart and last week I busted my arse, I worked 6 days straight 8-6 but at the end of saturday I started to get a cramp on my left side like uh oh I over did it. I called the dr he said its ok to cut down on my hours. I normally dont work crazy hours just took advantage of working those hours since school was out. normally like this week Im back to my 5 hour days. Just be careful and take lots of breaks and drink a ton of water.

as someone who is not pg, i'd say skip it. i'd be more annoyed at having to do double work with someone working with, then just to do all the work myself. does that make sense?

totally understand. The girl I am working with is such a sweetheart, I would hate to take advantage and not do my part.
